I sell tint. The 20/% looks dark outside looking in, but inside looking out isn't as dark. That's the way it's made.

If you can get away with it I would say 20%. I would have loved a 20% charcoal tint but its also asking for trouble.

Yeah.. I'm not really worried about the inside sight as much as the outside look. Thanks!

Go with 35% on the four SIDE windows and 20% on the REAR.
That way the cops can still see in, but it looks much better then stock.
Your chances of getting a ticket are much LESS with a lighter tint on the sides.
The 20% on the back will help when there’s a big SUV on your ass at night.
Cops usually don’t care how dark the back window is.

That’s the way my car is done.

That is funny, 'cause I was looking at YOUR car and really liked the tint. Oddly enough, the tint guy will only do 35 or 20, but not both (I think this is wierd, but I have seen his work and it is good).

BTW: Your car is FVCKING nice!!!!

I suppose that this won't help in the poll but I have 20% on the back and 35% on the sides. Looks pretty nice IMO. 35% is legal in MA but 20% isn't unless it is behind the drivers head. I wouldn't mix tints on the sides though so I went with both the door and triangle window the same amount of tint.

I had 35% on my Prelude before I got the CL-S and they tested it with a light meter every time I got it inspected. If you get 20% you might fail inspection unless you have a friend that works at a garage or something. Fix-it tickets are no fun either.

Good luck! Post pics after you get it done! I have some picks in the 2nd Gen gallery but admittedly, they aren't the best pics of my car if you are looking for tint pics.

That’s pretty stupid. If he’s got BOTH on hand, why not split the install ???
Thanks for the complements.

35% all around! I just did my accord this weekend, and it looks stunning! 20/35% looks uneven in my opinnion and wierd. I also have no nighttime visibility problems in my car.

When you mix percentages on the SIDE of the car I agree, but side to rear looks FINE.

Actually, I've got 35 up front and 20 on the back side window, and I don't think the difference is that noticable from outside. Of course, it's on a black car, though, so it all kinds of blends together. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

I also went with no tint on the front window, even though I could have gotten that strip across the top. With the other windows tinted and closed, the front is plenty dark as-is.

I'd say go with 20/35 mix, either like Shawn's or mine, if you can find someone who will do it. 20 is a bit dark for side windows, but it's great in the back.

35/20 split only its like Shawn's ride with only the rear window being 20. I personally don't like the look of the front-side being 35 and the rear-side being 20.

Okay, here are my pics...

A couple of side shots. The front is 35, the back is 20. With our back window being so small, and with it being a black car, I don't think the color difference is very noticable. On four-door cars, the mix looks pretty silly, but on this car...

Look, Frank! A Dandilion!

And here's a picture of the front. There is a great-big-o Valentine 1 up at the top on the passenger side of the rearview, but even without extra tint up here, it's very difficult to see.

I'd go with the 20%, i have 17% on my black first gen and i think it looks sweet, i would go even darker but ive been getting bitched at by this one cop lately and im going to have to take it off soon .. I'd definatly think about 35% if the cops in your area pull people over for things like that alot..

I went with 20 when I got mine done recently...its only really dark at night. During a sunny day, you can clearly see in. I love 20, even though MD is 35% legal

Thanks for all of the help guys... I went with the 20 on the back and 35 on the sides theory... Just got the car back and it looks NICE!!! Only issue is the slight wierdness on the edges of the window because of the factory "grid". I see from some pics that this is fairly common. I was told that I could get them out as it dries by squeegee-ing them out.

Any thoughts on this??? Anyone been able to totally get rid of it???

Once again thanks folks!!!

I have 50% sides, 35% rear and I really wish I'd done what ShawnS did with the 35% sides, 20% rear. That really is the best, and at least here in MD 35% sides is still legal.
