Tinted headlights...

Any-noncheezy-way to lightly tint headlights aftermarket?

I really like the look of the headlights on 2002 Lexus's & Infiniti's (Blue tinted)... I also really like the smoked headlight look of cars like the I30 and the new Integra-R.

Somethin like this:

thats just the bulb color isn't it?
its the reflection of the bulb with the housing that gives it a tinted look, no?

For example, if you were to put in
a Solaris 9005 high beam to replace stock bulb...then you would have a blue glow to your "eyes" cuz the solaris bulbs are blue.

i'm really tempted to get those now.
Dang it.

The lights look really awesome...so I guess any cheesy blue 9005 bulb would do the trick!

Yeah.. pretty much. You can get them at your local Auto parts store. If you have a Kragen or Pep Boys, they should carry the super white 9005 bulbs.

no no no no no...

your not following at all.

I'm not talking about the color of the light or the bulb.

I'm talking about the actual color of the plastic lens (housing).

If you look beyond the xenon in that pic youll notice how dark tinted the headlights are... lemme find better pic.

Or just go look in your office parking lot at a late model Lexi/Infiniti and you will see what I mean. (Infinitis only get tinted lights with sport packages... Lexi only has them for '02)

Now you need to do the lower part of the grill, I think that would look really good. I think x3.2clx have the blue bulbs in his cleared out headlights. When you get the new high beams don't u lose ur H.I.D. lighting then?

I'm waiting for install instructions for the lower part of the grill. Once I get those, I'm gonna try it.

The HID's are only your low beams. The highbeams are halogens (and suck like the original road lamp lights). These are a closer match to the HID's (like the polarg M6's for the road lamps.)

Soopa. Yeah, I see what you mean, but they don't look like the whole housing is blue. It looks like just the bulb is blue. I think if we had the elongated housing like that it would look similar, unless my contacts are just all messed up. School me if I'm wrong though.

You are right if I understand what you are saying correctly. The reflection of the bulb at certain angles make it look like the housing is blue. In this pic, the blue bulb is there, but from the angle, the housing still looks clear.

no no no again.

I dont mean the blue xenon in that picture...

I mean how the headlight lens is tinted dark... heres a better pic... see how much darker these "smoked" headlight lenses are compared to the normal RSX? Looks less civic... less k-mart chrome loookin.

Guess you'd have to buy new tinted casings. The smoked casings would look good on black, I like my chrome on silver though.

Sid: What kinda lights did you use? I just changed mine and they aren't nearly as blue as yours. I went on all the sites (PIAA, Sylvania..etc.) and all the bulbs look similar in "blueness", but they are really light when I installed them (ok, the 9005's from Walmart) in my car. What brand did you use to get that effect?
