Tell me you don't lock your doors when you cross the 55 on the way to work.

I just got my car tinted from XLNT last Saturday and I see a lot of tiny bubbles in the dot matrix area.

Is this suppose to disappear in one month as suggested by XLNT?

Thanks

The matrix area is a really hard part to tint right if you dont get it tinted by someone that knows what to do on that part. Xlnt tint is a great tinter, but they don't do the best job on the matrix area. Those bubbles won't really go away....unless they are just the "here today gone tomorrow" bubbles that just need sunlight/heat to disappear.

Welcome to the boards!!

Thanks for your reply.

I'm a bit confused now. It seems like a lot of people on this forum recommended XLNT. How did they get around the dot matrix?

my tint is messed up on the dot matrix also, but there are dust specks to which they are going to re-do. i have seen several ppl with sanded down dot matrix and it looks alot better than if you tinted over it, ask your tint about sanding it. that's what im gonna do.

Brian,

So you're saying we should have them sanded down a bit and re-tint it? Would that affect the reception on the radio and navi?

BTW, did you get your's done at XLNT?

the matrix dots have nothing to do with radio reception..they are there to block a little bit of the sun as far as I know. Pain in the ass!! I can't stand them....anyways, yeah you can also opt for them to lay a vinyl piece over the matrix area. Dunno how that will look. They seem to be fine.

that's what i am probably going to do, i cant stand the look of my dot matrix right now....everyone i have heard from has had great results with sanding the matrix or the vinyl. i guess either are fine, just check out some ppl's rides to get a better idea. as long as it looks good, the method doesn't matter.

U know what guys, after talking to the llumar people at Sema last year at vegas, they told me that the dot matrix area of cars isnt a big deal as long as the tinter knows what he's doing and takes the time to do it right.

Personally i'd recommend Tint Man in Walnut. I've never had my cars personally tinted there but ive seen the work on other people's cars. They arent exactly the cheapest tho, i think they charge like 200 for doing all the windows using a the SolarGard fully metallic tint(i forgot what it was called, but it is fully metallic and top of the line).

Problem is that you can't exactly just compare the tint jobs on the other cars...not all cars have the matrix dots....and the ones that do aren't always as plentiful as our CL's.
