I usually don't care for tinted taillights. However, I do like that second pic with just the bottom half tinted.....

i'd go tint the windows before i started thinking about the tails.
i think tinting the tail lights is getting a bit overdone anyway

i wanna tint my windows first, but its like $200, and this is only $50+ . i dont want limo tints, i dont wanna be blind, especially at night. so round 30-35% maybe? i dunno still thinking about it. thanks for ur thoughts tho! the tail tints may be gettin a lil old, but the red lights on the SMR body is startin to be a little tooo much red, even tho thats my fave color. so yeah.

I say you swap the '03 tails for '01-'02 tails since you have a red car...plus it would be unique.

start the trend...I actually considered this since I have a 6-spd, it would throw the average bear off.

So, in short: Trade your tails for '02 all red tails + cash. Use cash + $50 saved by not tinting your tails to tint your windows.

I personally like the top half of the tails tinted, but mine are 01's, so it's a bit different. See my av or this pic for example.

Personally I would leave the tail lights how they are, I mean its a Acura and a CL at that I would understand if it was like a mustang or some other POS.

I did 35% tint on my front windows and 20% on the rears... not too dark, but still looks good and 35% and 20% match up nicely. You can see pics of it on my car domain page . Check the last three pics, it actually looks darker in the pics than it does in person. I'd leave the tails alone tho until you do the windows.

i was thinking 35% all around, coz maybe 20 on the rear, coz i would like it to match. and not look like the TL's with 35% front and 5% back..ugh, so ugly....but yeah, urs looks nice, but ur cars color is also dark so it works. how much did u get urs done? would a DIY job bhe a good idea?

The 20%/35% really is a good match and was recommended to me by the tint guy. I got really lucky cuz the guy didn't make the first appt with me, so I complained and told him how many times I've used him before and he did the whole job for $100 with a lifetime warranty.

I really did use him before and he stands by his work, plus he's mobile and he's been in business for like 15 years. I'd highly recommend him to any NorCal guys.

I would definitely NOT do a DIY! Let a pro handle it, the dot matrix at the top of the rear windshield makes it a big pain in the ass to get the tint to stick. The guy that did mine used a strip of vinyl across the top of the rear window so that it looks good from the outside and will stick better than the tint.

Do a search for Tint and you will find some good info about that.

Don't think tinting your windows would be a very plausible DIY. Ask around and see where people got their windows tinted in your area for a reputable place. I think I can see my house in your tail light btw, weird.

I don't think that will look good on a red car... cool with the black tho.

If you decide to get your vehicle tinted go with the same percent all the way around. I have 15 percent all the way around and is dark just like I want it. If you get 35%, might as well not even get it done save you money for other upgrades. I suggest at least go with 20% or lower, but again its just my opinion again

yeah, i don't like such a dark tint IMO. maybe a lighter tint would be nice.. just a tint dark enough that its noticeable but not too obvious.

yeah i still have to find a place here in milwaukee to do tints for a decent price. i know the DIY was a joke, ive seeen sooo many bad DIY tints, im not even gonna try. thing is i dont wanna get a ticket for the tints, esp here in milwaukee, they are starting to crack down on people. last weekend, they gave 300+ tickets, 40-60 cars got towed, a lot for speeding, tints and parking violations, and the legal limit here in wisc is 35%. it was even on the news, they showed a cop checking a guys tint, it was 20% and got a huuuge ticket 200+. so yeah.

^gaping46aand2

thats coz i was by your house when i took the picture, oh and i just managed to get you in the tail light too hehe, sorry, yes i used ur cars ass as a frame of reference. guilty. think of it as a compliment, coz i want my ass to look like yours. , i just didnt say that.....

^II1I2I1I2III(im sorry i dont know what the hell ur name is )

thats exactyl what i want, dark enough so that it looks nice, but not to call the popo's attention. i mean my car is red, it catches enough attention, just so that i could actually seeeee, i took a friends GLI and he had 20% all around and man it was hot, but man was i blind!!

^VIPCLS
exactly, i would like it to be even all around, but 20% may be to dark, plus all the ticketing i was talkin about up there.

Well in that case I would go with something light if the cops are being dickheads like that there, and your car is red which stands out. But when you do get it tinted you cant go wrong tint is just a all around good investment.

If cops are cracking down and the legal limit is 35%, go a shade lighter because there is a light tint on our windows from the factory. I think there is a thread on here somewhere about that.

The reason I went lighter up front is because in CA you are not allowed to do aftermarket tint on the front windows. Since a lot of cars come that way now, cops are a little lenient, but I wanted to get something light enough to see through from outside on the fronts. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Pretty much, but you're taking a risk if the cops are cracking down. In my truck, I have all the windows tinted and got pulled over for it one time since 1999. In CA its a fix-it ticket, so if you know a cop, they can sign off on the ticket for you. If not, as in my case, I paid the $160 and never got them fixed. It sucks, but beauty comes at a price. LOL!

35% doesnt look bad at all if u get quality product... besides im sure u dont wanna pay the cost of a whole tint job just in the form of a ticket... cause u thought 20% looked better than 35%....

i actually dont, i think 20% is too dark, but maybe im too conservative. im a lil practical. its annoying when u cant see at night "is that a car, or a mailbox at the stop sign?" :p
