Timing Belt & Motor Mount Question
Manual states replace belt every 7 years and mine is going on 9 years but only 45K miles on it since then. You recommend replacing belt or is the 7 years overkill? Lastly, was told my motor mount is bad but don't feel anything unless I hit the throttle hard. Is repairing the motor mount something that is more easily done with less labor when timing belt, water pump, etc. is replaced or doesn't it matter as far as labor goes. Thanks,

the 7 years is mainly because the TB is made of rubber (which deteriorates over time).
Open your hood and press on the brake as you shift from the different gears to see how much the motor moves (obviously, have someone look for you) if you feel vibrations in the cabin, it's typically the rear motor mount. If it's just on hard throttle, it might just be a side transmission mount or maybe even the Engine Torque Damper (assuming you have a 6 speed)

Thanks for the info. I'll do the check under the hood while wife holds brake and goes through the gears. On second thought, not sure if I trust my wife with holding the brake.

Timing Belt - Suggestions
I had the TB along with water pump, etc. changed 9 years ago for just under $800. Just called dealer and was quoted $849 plus tax, etc. for just the TB and tensioner. He provided the option of doing the water pump, etc. for over $1200 plus taxes. Seems like doing just the TB is the way to go: What do you think? Lastly, is this a job that an average mechanic can do or is it best for the dealer to do as I read a thread where a member had an issue putting certain parts back together? Also advised coolant flush for $160 if wanted and I never had it done. Any advice there? And would probably do the brake fluid flush while I'm at it. Yes, my wife loves the car and we intend to keep it but these prices drive me crazy.

That seems like a stupid idea to me. I'd rather change just the tensioner than just the belt.
Coolant and brake fluid change can be done yourself without any difficulties. You could find a well reviewed and trusted shop for Hondas/Acuras that can do all that work for cheaper and get the same results. If you're changing the timing belt, then absolutely change the tensioner. I would personally also change the water pump and idler pulley.
