$665.00 for the labor (7hrs) plus the belt cost, the Timing belt cost 49.13 from the dealer, plus the other belts that get replaced, which they did not charge me for as they replaced them a year earlier.

This does not include the rest of the 105k service.

Yea, it was under $800.00 for the belts and labor for that, just adding in the other stuff made it over 1k. They replaced the hoses as well during my service.

Don't forget the water pump. It's also scheduled at 105k while they're in there doing the timing belt. That will bump the price another $200.

Get estimates from the best independent Honda-Acura mechanics in your area. For the whole job (including water pump), not just labor.

we are given 3.5h at the acura i work to.....so 3.5 x $80 = $280 for the timing belt labor only.

Well you could knock out 2 birds with one stone by getting a UR Pulley and having that done too since it is kind of in the same area.

Darkness, 305-716-0232. Tell them Nick w/ the CL-S sent you. I actually have to go pick up my car Sat, today, from them. They're adjusting my valves & doing a small tune-up. PM me & let me know how it does if you do.

When is the serivce due to change the Timing Belt. I thought it was around the 100 K Mile mark which in Canada is 160, ooo Kms. I just turned 96,000 Kms = 60,000 miles, delare says it should be done, becasue the cold winter . My Maxda MX6 was at the 160,000 ( 100 Mile mark) Any experts have the answer.
Thanks

For us CDN's it shouldnt be earlier than 155'000km. In general that is. Most of my friends change theirs around 165-70'000 to which the belts where a bit cracked. Nothing huge, but definately worn down.

canadian's maintenance schedule should be followed in the rough driving conditions schedule notes.

so the US 160 000km for timing belt is ok for us residents
but canadian's rough driving conditions suggest to replace it at 100 000km

you can go on till 120~130 000km without any problem, but it begins to be risky past that, even more if you're where it gets to -35C in the winter

you don't want to have the engine overhauled or replaced just because you waited 10-20 000km

Make sure that they are honda/acura specialists. And as was mentioned before - make sure they do the waterpump. I'm gonna do it next month.

any good mechanic will do it. No need to look for Honda specialists.
