ticking sound

just noticed a new ticking sound coming from the driver's side, right in front of the rear tire, it sounds like its coming from underneath the body. i can hear it only when the car is warmed up and running. anybody know what is causing this? should i take it to Acura, knowing that all they will say is "could not reproduce the problem"

I had a similar problem, but my car made the ticking sound both when warm & cold.

The Acura tech found that one of the timing belt pulleys was busted and when they replaced it, the noise went away. Good luck!

I think if the sound is coming bellow rear wheel on the driver's side its actually normal. This is your fuel pump working.... Try pressing accelerator pedal for few seconds, the noise will be gone ( probably indicating the fuel can flow freely, but then it might be back).

It also depends on the incline of your car, sometimes its silent cause fuel flow on its own....

Am I right? cause that's the area where fuel pump is located....

Yeah, I had this problem too, they replaced A/C tensioner pulley... and they sound was gone...

there is yet another misterious ticking sound from EVAP canister..... I don't have this one yet.

Those all are from the hood, he was talking about the one from rear end of the car.... my best guess its a fuel pump pumping gas... and the sound is normal...

I had the same noise after I installed my stereo system b/c they ran the power cable through the fire wall but never completely sealed the hole, they just put a gromet in...I used dumb dumb to seal the hole and the sound went away...if any of you ran wires into the cabin see if the hole is too big allowing the sound to come in. You should still hear it in the engine bay, it's normal b/c my friend who works at my dealership bought an 03 CL-S 6-speed and it makes the same noise under hood. Needless to say the techs checked it over with a fine tooth comb for him.

My error! The dealer replaced the same AC pulley.

Can someone verify that intermitent ticking in the rear & underneath of the car is normal and it is a fuel pump??

That's my best guess.... I have the same noise, and sometimes it does not happen depending on the incline my car is parked... also when you push gas a little, its gone for 10 seconds ( probably cause you don't need fuel pump and gas flows on its own )
