Ticking noise from some solenoid...

Anyone else getting annoyed by this ticking sound?

I've got an '03 6MT and have taken it in before and was told it was some solenoid that is located on the driver's side behind the dash near the engine. They said that this part does do this. Anyone else hear the ticking when the car is parked or at a light? It's starting to annoy me! If you had this problem and the dealer did fix it, can you let me know what they did?

I have the same thing on my 02 type S. I brought it in twice for this and they ended up telling me the same thing they told you. I almost traded the car in right after I got it b/c it drove me crazy!!!! Guess I should have since my tranny just went at 32,000 miles.

I was wondering WTF that was. Mine is doing it too. Its not too loud, but when I bring it in this week to have the heat coil in my seat replaced, I will have them look at it.

So its a solenoid??? Is there a remedy???

ticking noise

I have a 03 6mt also. I noticed this the first second I drove my new car and still hear it now. I brought it in atleast 3 or 4 times already. They say that it is normal, and they just didn't make a quiet enough valve. There is no fix for it now. They tried moving the position of it in the engine bay 3 times, but it never helps. This is rediculous. The engine is always ticking. I didn't know I was buying a car with a grandfather clock under my hood. Hope you get it fixed. Keep us updated.

I have the same ticking on my '03/auto. It doesn't seem like it does it all the time, as I only notice it every so often when I put the car into park.

I guess the only fix is to crank up the tunes!

Too bad I still have a rough idle problem (I think it's a problem)...

Yeah .. I noticed this on my '03 CLS-6 as well .. I never had it happen on my '02 CLS tho .. on this thing .. with the piss poor idle .. I thought there were a leaky spark plug wire .. especially when I heard the ticking .. until I went under the hood and worked the throttle cable a bit .. and got the damn valcuum valve to start open/closing repeatedly .. you bet your butt I'm gonna complain about this . .it is unacceptable!
