This morning when I was warming up my car, I noticed that there is a strange noice comming from under the hood. It was a metal ticking noice, happening every 1/4 sec or less, it was like "tick tick tick tick".
Not to loud, but noticable.

Does it mean there is something wrong with my car? I don't rember hearing it before... otherwise my car works well.

 

Its a BOMB!!!!! GET OUT, GET OUT, jump out and roll. Its gonna blow.

Due to be checked and fixed Tommorrow morning.

 

Really, so I do have a problem? Should I go to the dealer and ask them to take a look at it?

 

It is annoying like a pain in your ears. Not right on $30K CLS...
There is TSB for it.. But reseating it may not fix the ticking noise and may need to be replaced.

On my CLS the ticking noise starts after the CLS is warmed up.. As the EVAP canister puge valave does not work when the engine temprature is low.

I belive my ticking noise is only present when car is cold, but maybe it is present as it operates as well, I need to check that.
How long does it take to fix it for a dealer? Will they give me hard time trying to prove that this is "Normal"

 

Wait a minute.. I've had the same ticking noise coming from my engine ever since I bought it. My service manager said that it's normal because it's the purge valve opening and closing.. Are you guys saying that there is a problem if you can hear the valve ticking???

 

The problem is the ticking is TOO loud... I's emberassing.

 

The ticking noise from my car isn't loud at all.. If I wasn't so anal about my car I don't think I would have heard it... I just contacted 3 other Acura service managers and they all said the same thing.. It's not a problem or an issue if you hear the ticking noise.. There is no service bulletin on it due to the fact that it's not something that needs to be fixed.. By the way, I contacted Napleton Acura(my personal dealerships), Continental Acura, and Arlington Acura..

 

If I can hear the continously ticking sound from my drivers seat at a stop light then it is a problem for me...

 

If this is not a problem that needs to be fixed, I am not bothered with the noise, its not that loud.... However, if this is a real problem indicating malefuncioning, I would want it to be fixed.
So is it a problem, or normal? Is Acura trying to say something is normal when it is not?

I spoke to 3 different Acura service managers and they all said the same thing. It is not a problem and there is no service bulletin for it.
