Thumbs up for cls

Was at the pool store today with windows down sunroof open (the beauty of Arizona & heated seats)and I come out of the store and this guy and his chick are checking out my cls. The girl ask is that your car? (I'm thinking what do you think it's my dad's). I say yeah and she proceeds to tell me how sweet it is.I'm like Thanks as Idrive home all pumped up-

It's a cool feeling when that happens. I try to explain it to my wife... but she thinks I'm nuts sometimes

I was getting off of I684 and it's a 3 lane exit.... two lanes going left. I was in the left most lane and this older guy.. probably in his mid-50's or so, rolled down his window and was commenting on the exhaust, then looked the whole car over and said great job on it... it's really nice.... I was all giggly till I got home

Welcome fellow AZ owner! Is your CL stock? You're right on about the weather here right now.

Most people think my CL-S costs over $40,000 and are surprised at the sticker price. I did get more Gollys with my S2000 though. One kid saw the S2000 and said I was making him look bad. Good Line!

AZ weather kicks ass!!! Especially in the Winter. The only place that has better weather than PHX is Tucson
I was in PHX over Thanksgiving and some older dude (40-50) pulls up next to me in a 90 Legend. He says too me "Is that one of those new VW things?", "Nah, man it's an Acura", "Damn I need to get me one of those" "Uh....you have one." Then gives kinda odd look and jumps off the line. So I jump too, although a little late, but i still smoked him. Weird kinda compliment.

It's funny........all the critics say that the styling is "not passionate" or whatever........I have had mine for about 2 months now and everyone seems to love the styling........just yesterday, I stopped to get directions at a 7/11 (should have got the Navi) and as I got out of the car this girl coming out of the store starts to tell me how hot my car and that she really like it.......I thanked but then rushed back to my car after getting directions (kind of a rough neighborhood - if you know what I mean).

Preaching to the converted...the CL-S isn't flashy...which is why it gets compliments from the people that it does. You want the 18 year olds (flame away if you are 18 yrs old) to like your car then the CL-S is not what you want to drive. You want the people that respect a nice, well powered, well mannered car to take notice then you are driving the right car! Go look at anti-rice.com if you want flash (and just...bad)..we just STYLE!!!

Lets ROLL!!! the people aren't looking at the flashy cars because the look good!!!

The styling did appeal to me because of its luxurious demenor (especially from the side view). The long lines and elegant back window drop with in your face exhausts make it distinctive like other higher priced luxury cars. I do agree that Acura needs to put wider tires to round out the package.........

Agreed. Wider tires is key. The exhaust on the CL is so sweet. When I was looking, the CL just seemed like a sleeper. Every option and a great engine. The new 280hp gang are flashy...but with cheap money you are as fast (?) and so much more classy. When I was looking, they were asking $3K over invoice for the Z and $1K over for the G35. PLUS you had to "add options" to get all the bells and whistles that the Acura came with. As a Honda guy, and dealing with the "you really want this car...it is recognized by magazine XYZ" nismo people I was pleased to deal with Acura. Okay...the first Acura dealership sucked!!! Nashua was the best!!! I prefer to get the compliments from the adults.

Do you have an auto or a 6spd? I highly recommend the swaybars. The best mod for under $300. I will be getting headers sometime after the holiday when my wallet recovers.

Wow, there are more AZ CLS owners than I thought! Man, you guys make me sick....I wish I could put some mods on mine...stock is alright, but not exciting enough. If I had the money right now, definitely some springs, shocks and sways....maybe new rubber and wheels too. For me, it's all about looks for now and maybe a little bit for performance. Headers and CAI would be after all these.

Should do another meet sometime too...

gsrblack, jet-tek, I am all about a meet! I think the other AZ boyz would be down as well. We need to do a daytime meet this time somewhere other than the Pavilions where there is less distraction. We also need to meet before 4pumped sells his car. In the next week or two would be great.

I'm down for a meet. It'll have to be a Sunday if it's during the day. That's the only day I take off.
