a ? for those w/ wood steering wheel...

How is the wood part attatched to the wheel? is it permanent? I was thinking of painting the wood part silver ir getting it chromed to match my brushed aluminum trim and chrome shift knob. tell me if you think its somehow detatchable. maybe It can be masked from the leather part?...

by the way, aren't these wheels crazy, I think they just came out from MAS Italy, Strada. I'm coppin them in chrome, 18" x 8", if they fit. I think they're 40 offset.

NO will they fit with a +40 offset. Sorry. You need i think a +48 offset for a 18x8

+45 is as low as you can go.

+45 on an 8" wide wheel is exactly flush with the upper fender lips. occasionaly rubbing... but mean ass look

+48 is best.

I have it, I don't think there is any way you could detach the wood. Your best bet would be paint; keep in mind that if you attempt to cut away the wood portion you could not only damage the air bag but you would certainly invalidate any future damage claims you may have should you ever have an accident and the bag does not deploy.

the wood is the actual steering wheel, it doesn't come off...you coul still paint it tho, just do it before you install the wheel...my only concern would be the paint coming off on your hands on warms days...

damn, I got to get those friggin wheels, maybe an adapter or something. as for the steering wheel, If I take the ring itself to a bodyshop and they proffesrionally paint it a mettalic color with a clear coat, I don't think it would come off, right.

I don't think that would be a problem then....just have it done before you install it to save labour costs
