They are required with stock wheels, 5mm spacers I believe. What diameter\width\offset wheels are you running?

I don't have the rotora BBK but others on this forum do and needed 5mm spacers on the front. One guy was able to use OEM '03 CLS rims with 5mm spacers on his '02 TLS. However, it all depends on what rims you have. If you went with the '04 TL 18" ASpec rims, you wouldn't need spacers.

I have the brembo 13" BBK and also had to go with 5mm spacers and 18" x 7.5" Volk rims. My rim spoke to caliper clearance is ~1.6mm. According to brembo (I called their tech support line), this is sufficient if you have good rims like forged ones.

Niteqwill, you will probably need spacers with an offset that high. Mine are 18x7.5 with +48 and I would probably need a spacer, but might barely make it.

50+ will probably need a spacer.

Wouldn't you guys recommend matching the spacers in the back with 5mm as well? Wouldn't you want it even all the way around?

I thought about that. However, I talk with several sources (including Shad at CompTech) and they said it wasn't necessary. The net affect of having spacers only on the front will throw the balance of the car a little toward the rear. In fact, I've heard a lot of FWD SCCA road racers do this to improve the balance of the car.

I think the need for spacers in more related to the spoke shapes on your particular wheel. If you have spokes that come straight up from the center, they will have less clearance from the Caliper. You can have two wheels with same width, offset, and diameter with one that fits and one that does not. Spoke design is more important to the spacer question once you're over the 17" minimum diameter.

Call Rotora. They can e-mail you a template that you can cut out and lay on the inside of your rim to check for adequate clearance. I have one for the Accord that someone sent me. If you want it, PM me with your e-mail and I'll forward you a copy.
