for those with the intake resonator removed...

Have you noticed a Humming noise from the removal of your intake resonator. I removed my resonator when I got the headers installed and I have that famous UFO noise at idle. i took apart the airbox to check if it was put back properly and everything looks fine.

I'm talking about a humming noise at idle, with the stock airbox. kinda like the short ram UFO noise. I have the hissing noise when I shut off the car, but the idle noise is making me wonder

I heard it last night and it is very pronounced. Sounds almost like a hose is not tighten correctly and leaking air somewhere.

I must see this type of post at least every other week. Its is called "Intake Resonance" hence the need for a "Resonator" you remove that you get the noise...pretty basic ..HUH?

Dude I think one of the hoses is loose or something cause you probably had this since PAA did the install of the Injen.

When I took the resonator out I had no humming noise at all the only difference I noticed was at Vtec the scream was more pronounced

Lou is blowing you RonDog...there is no way around that noise ..It is the air being metered into the engine...I had a CAI on my CLS and the humming drove me crazy enuff to take it off. After speaking with numerous Acura mechanics and others on this board..there is no way around it. I went back to my stock airbox with a K& N drop in. Guess what...no more humming

My understanding...and it may be wrong, is that a short RAM will have a terrible UFO noise. The AEM CAI makes bad noises but isn't too bad....not UFO after the car warms up.

Sorry....but the Icebox doesn't do any of the above. If only I had a dyno on a ss to prove the Icebox DID something!!!!

the noise is the air being metered into the intake but there is a way to fix it. there's a screw beside where the intake meets the throttle body. its an air bleed screw. turn it counter clockwise and the noise should get louder because more air is being let inside the intake manifold. clockwise should make it go away. you barely ever so softly want to hear that hiss while under the hood, never while inside the car or with hood closed. later.

if you leave that rubber boot that joined the lower resonator to the top then the noise will be lessend
