For those 01-02 CL with 03 Headlights...

Do you still have the 01-02 headlights laying around? If so, I have a project I want to try. As you can see from my "di-noc emblem" post I've been working with the 3M di-noc and want to try to wrap the chrome housing inside the headlight. However, I would like to have headlights in my car while I work on this. If anyone has an extra set, please let me know. Thanks.

Would there be any heat issues with the vinyl? Where are you located?

That's the issue which is why it's a project. The di-noc has a higher temperature rating than regular 3m vinyl, but I'm not sure the actual temp that the housing gets up to with the headlights on continuously. The heat from the heat lights will actually make the di-noc form/shrink to the housing even more.

I'm in Omaha, NE. I'll probably end up buying an extra set as I've posted WTB threads on several forums.

Sounds like a cool idea. But good luck finding headlights...
Back in 09 when I did my TSX projector retrofit I was looking for extra headlights, had a wtb thread, checked local bone yards, and car-part.com. I didn't care what condition or what year and still had the hardest time finding a set for cheap.
Lucked out with a member on here parting out his 6speed. Still had to drive like 3 hours to get em too. I sold one of them and the other I got is opened and missing parts, Or i would have offered it to you for cheap. I still plan to take em apart and do it again because I have more knowledge now, did the retrofit by the seat of my pants if you know what I mean. ohh and my highbeams are still aimed at the ground. But my headlights are bright as fu#k, lol.

The nicer the set, the higher the price... Just depends how how clean they are as well as if it's just the housings, with or without ballast & bulbs and if they've been opened before. Please PM the details. Thanks.

It's not that same "block carbon" pattern that is all over eBay though. If you look at my front grill in "di-noc emblem" you'll see that it doesn't look that way. That's why I just want to try it out. If it doesn't work, then they end up just getting blacked out anyways.

I wasn't trying to say you don't know what dinoc is, I just think it would be pretty clean looking... I just need to find some headlights. The local junk yard said they had an 01 CL in, but when I got there THE SAME DAY, it was completely stripped.

That's a good price for ones with ballasts & bulbs, but I don't need all that. Car-Parts has a set for $225 w/o ever being opened, no fog or leaks, with a "30 day satisfaction guarantee". I know that's a huge jump from $350, but that's around what I'd be looking to spend.

I'm even looking at junked sets for $125. I don't want to get too invested in this project to turn out not to work at all and then I'm just out money. I don't like that feeling.

I can always part out the ballast. Not really worried about that. Was just offering a package deal. I had mine cleared through winter without a single issue. If you are interested PM me and i'm sure we could work something out.
