thinking of purchasing a CL-S

I took a look at some of the reviews on websites, and it seems like the Acura CL Type S is more for Yuppies, people in their 30s.

Is this an 'old person' type car? Or does it depend on what type of mods you put on the car? I'm 25 years old btw.

Personally, I like the car. I really like the car. Even though I'll have to pay an arm and a leg for it, not including insurance. This is my first time purchasing a car. I'm looking to get it within the next 2 months.

What types of reactions have other CL-S owners received from the car, other then its awesome power?

I don't care what other people think, but it doesn't hurt to hear other people's opinions about the CL-S.

Does it come in any other colours besides the Black, Blue Pearl, Silver and San Merino Red? I've heard there is a Saffron colour and could have sworn I saw one in a parking lot. Are there pictures of the red one on this site? I couldn't find any...

I haven't seen that many CL-S on the road up here in Canada. I've seen more TLs thats for sure. Is it more popular in the States?

hehehe, saffron color? I think you're talking about the Pimp daddy gold. They don't make this color anymore. Don't forget they have the tafetta white color too.

I think the car can be for young and old people. I'm 24 but i rarely see any young women driving the car. More often, i'll see guys that look like they're in their 20's. I have never viewed this car as an "old person's" car.

I'm 26 and I have a type-S. Age is relative. I think the demographics initially was for older people, after all the car is kind of expensive.

That being said, I have also seen some pretty tight ones out here driven by young guys.

I think the car appeals to all age groups

hold up hold up...

where are you in North America where you can get a white CL-S?

I'm up here in Canada and we don't have that choice. (www.acura.ca)

Would you consider it to be the same type of white (well pearl white) used on the 2000 Prelude ? That colour is definately sweet... that with gold trim and tinted windows is definately big pimpin'

I am 22 years old and I purchased my CL-S two weeks ago. When the car was first previewed a couple years back, my girlfriend wanted one so after time I got to thinking it was a "chick car"

Anyways, I decided that it's not a chick car because most chicks can't afford it. Plus, with 260 HP and more features than in all the competition, it became more and more of a logical choice.

I don't get as many looks as I did in the 99 Camaro SS, but people still look. It is very practical and all of my friends and such love it and think it's much more expensive than it actually is.

I work at the largest Hewlett-Packard site in the world with over 10,000 employees out here at one time. I have only seen 2 other CL or CL-S cars. Yes, there are a lot more TL's in the parking lots.

If you like it, buy it! You won't be disappointed! (Unless you are taller than 6'5")

Oh, i didnt know that canada didn't offer white. No, I don't think the color is like the prelude white. I think theirs is a lil more creamier. My car is white! I really wanted the blue though.

i was trying to think of another car to buy.

There was ideas about the BMW 3 series (but its more expensive with the sport package), there was the IS300, Mercedes C Series, but it always comes down to the fact with the CL-S you get the best bang for your buck cuz it comes fully loaded with the toys. The Prelude was the best bang for your buck in the 30,000 category, but the base is pretty much that, basic.

I'm thinking of getting the Blue, with a stock spoiler, slash guards, and moon roof deflector.

to be honest, i'm not really into cars and such. well not yet at least. i have no clue as to some of the mods you guys talk about.

only tires, spoilers and headlights really stand out.

Sneak, don't buy it !!! I'm an older person and I drive one, hence people will think you are driving an old man's car, or that you are an old man. You wouldn't want that would you?? Ha ha ha ha. What the f**k? Who cares? You like it?? You buy it. Simple. I've always driven young people's cars since that's the way I choose to look at life and I'm not the "BUICK Type"......... Go for it--it's an awesome car. My PDG gets more looks than my 99 Cobra.

Ash- say hi to Carly for me
Sneak- you will not be disappointed in the car.. and no it is not an 'old' man's car.. if you wanna wait a year or so and have a need for only two seats the Nissan Z should be a deal for under 30k.. just being objective here.. though I love my car

Sneak, the CL is totally loaded and I do recommend you get it! Old Man car? Well, the navigation is made for an old man, because it's soooo freakin easy to use! Alot of mods ppl get are for performance, but they also enhance the look as well! check out my ride with bigger wheels/tires and comptech lowering springs.... I'm 25 btw.

A Porsche 911 is an old man's car, usually because it takes forever to afford one,but i'd still take one!
I'm 47,love high performance cars and will always own one, this is a great car period.
