Thinking of converting

Whats up everyone

I am very close to picking up a 2003 CL-S, 6 spd with navigation. I currently have a 2002 WRX, a very modded 12 second car. I am looking to get away from the loudness, and the cheap interior, and the whole "kid racer" image. I very much like the looks of the CL Type S, but I wanted to know your impressions of this car on the highway (ie power, the "extra" gear, etc) My car pulls like a mother but I put 40,000 miles on my car since I got it last April and its starting to get a little fatiguing.

It seems like I am all over the place with this post and I think I am so basically I was just looking for some positive reinforcement so I can go buy this car and have NO regrets about it. BRING IT ON!! Thanks,

Pete

get the cl. you will be happy w/ it. so much more luxurious than a wrx, and better looking too. w/ a couple of mods you will have a lux coupe w/ heated seats, nav and hid's that runs in the 13's.

before i bought mine i looked at every car possible and the wrx was one of them. acura doesn't have the best interior but definately better than the suburu's. i know moo has beaten some wrx's before. he has almost every mod out there, not that there are a lot. with the acura, you'll learn to appreciate the little "luxurious" things.

I say get the CL-S! It is a heavy car compared to the subaru, but it is very smooth. It is far more comfortable than a WRX, I test drove and almost bought one. As far as the sixth gear goes, you cant really use it untill about 60mph. and even then, it has enough power that you dont really need to downshift.
I bought the CL because i wanted a comfotable mature sports coupe that was capable of keeping me entertained. And it does its job everyday!!!

I test drove a WRX recently and it was an experience to say the least. That was a fun test drive, but the interior and the exterior just weren't good for me. Your car feels a million times different than ours with the all wheel drive and you may not like a front wheel drive car. As everyone will tell you, wait for the 350Z and the G35 coupe to come out, test drive all three, and then make your decision.

Get the CL if you can't afford the 330. That's my opinion.

:whocares: In 2 or 3 months, you'll be on the BMW forums saying that you have a 2003 CL-S that you're considering trading in......

With the exception of that post I appreciate all the positive things you guys had to say. I had looked at the 3 series, including the 2002 M3, but I really can justify spending $1000 a month on a car and leasing as I stated is out of the question. The problem I have with the 3 series is that they are a dime a dozen, and I rarely see Type S's around. It looks good for the CL-S for me. I like the luxurious qualities it offers for its price tag. Thanks again for your help.

Yeah, that's true. But what Red Rider fails to tell you is that I bought the VW Convertible from him (used) last year. As soon as I got it, I peeled the rainbow sticker off the back window though

6'2"?? Wow, big guy.

Too bad you weigh 110 pounds. We use guys like you to get the football out of the storm drain on the side of the road.

Just hold ya by the ankles and stick you through the slot.

Have you seen your Grandma lately?

LOL

Hey Tommy Boy, see now you can even Troll about how big you are or aren't. I've been to plenty of meets and people know me, come on by. I only weigh 195, but i bench 235, not bad for an old guy. Like the cars you don't own, you're probably a couch potato. Tom2, couch potato, know it all Troll. Roll out Tom3 and start over.

LOL, now you're making a funny! Please tell me that you're not bragging about benching 235! I was doing that back in high school and it's nothing to brag about.

So you're an "old guy"? Unless you're 60+, I don't think it would be good to brag about benching 235. Even if you are built like a praying mantis

Come on little Red Riding Hood, let's hit the gym....... You definitely sound like you need a little work

Let's go Homo, name the place, Where's the next meet you'll be at ? Oh, that would involve driving. Maybe you can rent a car, they have places where you can rent a real car. You're boring us Troll, and i say Troll on, but no more responses from me. Let's do this face to face, since you've been benching so much you shouldn't have a problem with a 48 year old weakling who "only" beches 235. Troll on

Okay, since you're in CA and I'm in NY, I'll meet you half way.... say somewhere in PA, okay?

I can't believe that I'm arguing with a 48 year old geezer :shakehd: :sqnteek:

You're old enough to be my father (do I hear a hallelujah?) dammit!

Anyway, you are a wise old man to quit arguing with me. If ignorance were Cheerios, you'd be General Mills.
