i had the exact same criteria ..

dont wanna slam, just dont want an SUV
dont wanna lose quality, comfort, luxury .. but would like some performance

So first I put on comptech springs .. dropped 1-1.2". Not at all slammed, most "non a-cl" enthusiasts cant even tell its dropped. I like that! The smooth/luxury ride quality was affected slightly .. I'd say about 5-10 points.

Next I got myself some swweeeeet 18" OZ's .. ride quality dropped again about 10-20 points this time.

After those two mods, I'd say I'm currently at about 75% of the Stock Quality .. you get used to it

However, the most important thing is that it was totally worth that sacrifice! the handling is a lot better, the appearance is a million times better! hope that helped

will that create a problem in the long run if u dont change the shocks as far as ride quality...also i dont want it bouncing either...so basically i ask can i just get away with changing the springs and still have decent support on the suspension...sorry to keep harping on this but i want to get this right the first time...thx

Alot of people have upgraded springs and stayed with the stock struts and seem o.k. I went with the Comptech springs and Koni yellows. If you can do both, go for it. You'll save on install, and the handling is way improved. Then get better wheels and lower profile tires and you're set. Fantastic handling with a ride that's still real good.
