Things to look for on my test drive?
Goin to pick up my 6spd cl-s today as long as everything is good on it. I have never seen a pic of the car or test drove it but i know exactly what it is 2003 ABP 6 spd with 30k miles and its acura certified. I was wondering if anyone could let me know of some things to look for that might be wrong with the car. I read alot about rattles which im goin to listen for, but any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Not to scare you, but if you have a mechanic that you trust, have them look the car over. Read this and you'll understand.

Aside from any of the CL problem areas... When looking at used vehicles, I always check the door, trunk, and hood seams for paint lines. I also look at where the fenders are bolted to the car. If any paint is missing, chipped, or scratched on the fender bolts, that is a pretty good indication the car has had some collision repairs of some sort. I also check for new welds under the hood and in the trunk, under the carpeted floor (spare area).

I bought my 6-spd new 3 years ago and have 60,000 on it now. It has been the most problem-free car I've ever had. The fact that it is a 6-speed is an important part of its reliability (the automatics have had problems).
If it hasn't been involved in a serious accident or been previously abused (which could be the case with any car), I personally would have no problem buying one. It's a fun car and I always enjoy driving it--even after over 3 years.
I can't think of another car within range of its price I'd rather have.

I'm definitely gonna check all this good info. Kind of scary about that story of belcom's sucky situation. Hopefully buying a certfied car from an actual acura dealer might be a little more safe. Hope i don't find any issues cuz im pumped to get it. Any other thing's i should look for lemme know. thanks guys

Well i got it! nothing really wrong except for a couple scratches in the leather but they said they will pay to have that fixed. But on the way up i got a ticket doin 94 in a 65 and then the NY state trooper gave me another ticket for not obeying the speed limit sign, WTF isn't that what a speeding ticket is for. god i hate cops
o well.
