Things to look forward to on a new Acura coupe
Luckily the CLS is pretty well optioned for it's time but we've had to sit and watch for the last 5 years as all the new Hondas and Acura sedans have come out with new features. (just saw an 06 Accord sedan with LED tails). Still waiting.
LED tails, integrated trunklid brake light (new Accord Coupes)
Side head airbags
Voice activation
Keyless Go- hopefully one piece key/fob
Automated steering wheel with tilt
SH-AWD
Dynamic headlights
Hopefully sportier styling - styled like the TL outside, and the RL inside.
what else should we expect (or want) on a new Coupe?

Additional Features
Well If Acura is about Luxury and Performance why not have the best of both worlds in the same car?
A sport button that:
Stiffens the active suspension, lowers the car
Changes Engine response and/or output.
Inflates the side bolsters in the seats
Changes transmission program for Automatics
Raise Rev Limiter?
Change Differential settings on the SH-AWD?
I'm pretty sure all these will not make it to the production car but it would be great and I would definately not be dissappointed in the Type-S badge.
Everything mentioned is POSSIBLE, and there is a market (M3?).
But I seriously doubt that Acura/Honda will implement them.

Car has to have more than just basic styling like everything else Acura is producing nowadays (read: bland). I don't want a 50K Accord which is why I won't be buying the RL. If it's got 4 doors, at least make it large enough in back for normal people to sit for a little while.
If it's a coupe, high perf required. I'd rather pay 50K for a hot ass couple than 35K for a half-assed effort like the current gen. CL turned out to be.

Acura Service
Most people here complain aobut Acura service.
I had a prob with one dealer and then I went to another and no problems with that one.
I don't really go often since I do all the regular maint. myself.
Could it be just certain dealerships are bad? like 50%?

The fact that I heard today from the service rep I know at Cerritos Acura that they are no longer going to be making RSX's makes me wonder if another 2-door coupe would ever come back.

IMO, the Legend Coupes have never been replaced. I had 2, an 88 and a 95.
The 97 CL supposedly replaced the 95 Legend Coupe.
The RL replaced the Legend sedan but is still called Legend in Japan.

If they are going to have a new coupe for 2007 MY (available in the Fall of 2006), you would think that they would have something for the car shows in early 2006 (detroit and new york) like how inifiniti will be introducing the new g35.

IF i decide to replace my cl with another acura coupe (highly unlikely) I hope it has a lot more goodies like the:
- bluetooth
- auxillary input for stereo
- auxillary input for dvd
- better cup holders
- driver side mirror tilt when in reverse
- 60/40 fold down rear seats (man if our CL's had just that i'd love the car even more)
- directional headlights (turn when you turn)
- better trip meter instrumentation
- rear quarterpanel window roll down
- rear window autoshade
- NAVI Upgrades:
- be able to enter a destination and it'll automatically suggest stops along the way for gas depending on how you're doing in terms of mpg
- traffic info
- Ventilated seats
- phone or mp3 player compartment where they can just sit with openings for audio or power cables to be routed.

well since there are so many technologically advanced cars out right now (i.e. new IS, new 3 series, RL, M series, etc.) i'm sure acura will be making an effort to compete with or surpass this level. not to mention they will be releasing the new acura coupe (supposedly) around the same time the new g35 will be unveiled, that's just another reason to make the coupe extra special..so hopefully it'll be everything we dreamed of, and more.
as a side note, wasn't there a thread around here that had a magazine scan of an RL coupe? if i rememebr someone translating the article correctly, they were definitely sticking a v8 in it?

So what makes you think that they'd jump from 6 cylinders to 10 so quickly?

Doesn't really matter.... Unless Acura decides to completely restaff it's Service dept. with properly trained individuals who actually give a hoot about their customer service, they will never put another vehicle in my parking space.
