Sorry, I'll take the word of both EricL and Nashua_Night_Hawk over anybody currently in this thread.

 

I don't see OBX headers in there.

And 20hp doesn't gain 6-7mph and .5-.7 in the 1/4. As you can see others agree its more than 25hp.

The reason people are saying 32 whp max gain is because thats the max gain at a certain RPM going from stock headers to comptech or one of the copies. Look at the graph that Silverbullet just posted, at ~6600rpms the stock dyno puts out ~180whp, while the stock header puts out ~225whp. (I'm just eyeballing it based off the graph, so give or take a few hp here or there, but thats still well over the 32whp that Comptech says is their max gain).

The gains in the upper end of the rpm range are where the headers really shine. Your max hp on the comptech headers versus max hp on the stock headers is going to be around 25whp.

EricL's comment in the other thread is just that your max gains when you're making the most horsepower are really only 25whp (@ 6500 rpms), and Comptech is misleading saying that your max gain is 32whp (since the max gain of 32whp at 6600rpms).

I guess it just depends on how you want to look at it ... But the overall average gains for headers is only ~8.7hp if you go by Comptech's graph. The average gain for headers from 5800-6800 rpms is 22.8whp.

The thing you can't deny whether you like or hate the CL/TL is that we gain a pretty good amount of horsepower in the upper range of rpms for a simple upgrade like headers ... This isn't some kindof mechanical upgrade like forced induction is, its really just more efficient pipes. And at $350-400 for the OBX or Stone Headers its a fairly cheap upgrade too.

Since this arguement all started from IS300's, I will say that IS300's can be SUPER fast when adding a properly tuned turbo onto the engine. Much faster then whats currently readily available for our CL/TLs.. Simply put their aftermarket support is a lot better.
