Tempo Oil Extractor mini-guide with pics
Tempo Oil Extractor mini-guide with pics
Xmas eve = work on car day, I also installed the blitzsafe and vacuumed my car today
(check audio section for the thread on the blitzsafe install)
I bought my oil extractor from an online marine store, there are other threads on where to buy it. I think I saw it on Amazon for even cheaper than what I bought it for.
First you get your car on a level surface and turn your wheel all the way to the right.
Park your front right-side tire on some cardboard or an oil pan
Here's where the oil boy tube goes into the car

Give it a bunch of pumps and the oil will start flowing into the cannister

after all the oil has been extracted, change your oil filter (lube up the gasket with some oil first)
whoever did my previous oil change tightened the crap out of the oil filter and I had to go buy an oil filter wrench to unscrew it.
Normally hand tightening the filter will be sufficient...

after that, dump in your 4.6qts and you're set!
ez kthxbye

Put a ziplock bag around the oil filter and it will catch most the excess oil, easier than doing the oil pan under it.
Should also note not to have the engine too hot because the tube can melt, at least according to what I read.

yeah, i tried using a plastic bag but it still made a mess. i'll try a ziplock next time.
and good idea about warning people are running the engine too long. i ran it for about 4 minutes and it was warm.
