I was on the way to another headhunter (STILL no job yet) and this punk in an S4 got right up on my ass and passed hard on the left. For the next 10 miles, I stayed within 20 feet of his rear bumper up to 110 in places, despite him weaving and trying to get away. When I got to my exit, he looked over and gave me a thumbs up...probably thinking about what an ass he was for paying 15-20K more than I did. My CL-S is BONE STOCK, by the way...his S4 was all jacked up with aftermarket exhaust and 18's. Our cars rule!!

Ummmm, not to burst your bubble but he was a shitty driver or was fucking with you. I have raced 3 S4's, from stop, from 40, from 80 LOL. Those Cars PULL very hard in the mide range when those turbos kick in. In the high numbers they pull away from us with our shitty tall 4th gear. In a very fair race multiple times the S4 pulled away around 70 and just kept leaving a gap. 20 feet from the bumper in all gears means he was not pushing it IMO.

I remember when I raced an S4. Those cars do pull hard. I was stock when I raced him, but I know even with my current mods I couldnt beat an S4 with good driver. At the track a stock S4 ran a 14.5, which is a respectable time.

The beauty of the experience was simply that I could hang with him..there's no denying that our cars can hang with S4's, we just won't win...but our wallets are fatter..therein lies the rub!!!

BTW, that was that guys first time at the track. AWD is much easier to launch than RWD because of the added traction. I bet he couldn't pull that time off w/o Quattro.

Not neccessarily, its much easier to avoid excessive wheel spin but its a heck of a lot easier to bog the launch in an AWD car.
