Tax Free Holiday

Have any of you peeps heard of that tax free holiday that these politicans are trying to pass. Supposedly, they are trying to jump start the retail industry by having a day or time when everything you buy would be tax free. Any news??

Yeah I heard about this a couple of weeks ago...I am waiting for news. I really hope they go through with this...Last I heard it was somewhere along the lines of a whole week! My dad will be buying a car during this time if it goes through.....I mean the sellers aren't losing any money so there is no reason for them to raise prices right?

for a whole week? wowzers...

all the better more incentives to buy a new car...

-end of the year
-tax break
-economic slump

or big ticket items

Is this part of the so-called "Budget Stimulus Package"??

The whole tax free holiday is a no-go right now they tried to pass it for the first 10 days of the christmas shopping season. They are still trying but its a state by state thing if its passed. Most states say they will do it if they are reimbursed for all the taxes.

Florida passed a tax free week a few years back. We have it right before school begins in the fall, mostly due to consideration for parents who have to buy a ton of clothing and suppplies for their kids.

Its a great time to stock up on clothing and shoes...but it doesn't cover high dollar ticket items.
