Tanabe medallion cat back

I installed my Tanabe exhaust and I'm pretty happy with the results.
I left the mid muffler on that came with it. Sounds a lot like a g35 nice rumble but it is whisper quite inside. Next week, I'm ordering some headers.
Anyone looking at a catback and want to keep a stock db level should consider this kit

It sounded good on a 2000 civic si also. How much was the set up? What headers are you going with?

I'm going to buy some xs to see how much I like the sound. I bought them off another member for $300 I just needed to modify them a little bit and weld it together

I'm picking up my medallion touring catback tomorrow from UPS also! Will post my results. Should be good with the new XS headers.

Please post a video sound clip before adding headers to give us an idea. I see a couple on youtube but they usually have other exhaust mods done as well.

I can't upload a video from my iPhone but I will when I get home. I'm debating taking the resonator off to make a little louder.

I installed mine last night.. I'm getting a super loud drone in low RPMs from like 2-3k. It isn't bad accelerating, but cruising on the highway it seemed kinda loud in 6th gear just trying to accelerate a little when the RPMs are low. This is my first aftermarket exhaust, so I'm not sure if this is normal?

The Tanabe MT exhaust is a great setup; it's fully stainless steel and guaranteed under 93 db. It isn't going to be a loud exhaust but it will definitely be more throaty than stock.

It shouldn't be a super loud exhaust system. Make sure everything is tight and there are no leaks.

Yea I'll have to get back under and crank on the bolts some more. It feels like the whole car resonates around 2500 rpm when I step on the pedal. Other than small range it's not loud at all. I do have the XS headers installed too.. not sure if that could make it that much louder

Yea I hope something's loose.. I don't know if I can stand it. I did have trouble getting to and tightening the top cat bolt while on jack stands

Got back under the car again (ugh jackstands) and every single bolt on the exhaust had some tightening left in it. They sure didn't when I installed it 2 days ago. So I'll keep an eye on them. The annoying loud drone/vibration accelerating at low rpms was drastically reduced. Now I've got some sweet tinny resonance when I let up on the accelerator. I've got my flex pipe wrapped, but I forgot water, so I doubt there's a good seal.

Also .. the old mid muffler heat shield is just hanging around down there.. anyone taken that off ?

my buddy had his heatshield dangling on another car and that basically ruined the exhaust note

I am removing all my heat shields and replacing them with either boom mat floor and tunnel shield or gold heat reflective tape.

Had my car in for timing belt service yesterday, and they found the side motor mount was broken. After getting it back.. I can say about 99% of the vibrations and resonance are gone. I still have one stupid tinny vibration in 1st and 2nd gear letting off the gas before shifting.... I can't tell if it's coming from in the dash or engine bay... Checked all the heat shields etc.. even removed the old mid muffler shield. The exhaust sounds great now, just need to figure one more thing out.

Figured I'd post a pic too.. needed to use the hose clamp solution on the exhaust hanger to get the passenger side muffler up where it should be.

I will be installing mine tomorrow along with the excelerate test pipe. I will post pictures, video etc in my build thread.

I will have basically brand new ct mufflers and XLR8 cat to sell and yes I will open a thread in BM for it mods.
