Talked to Steve from AEM

Just got off the phone with Steve from AEM (having filter replaced due to gaping hole) and asked him about what was in the pipeline for our cars and his answer, in short was "nothing". But, he was optimistic about the RSXtype S brake kit fitting our cars since it has the same rotor diameter (although, I think someone here mentioned it was thinner than ours).

He said they had talked about making a brake kit for the CL early on but that the rotor would have had to been so big that they scraped it for costs sake.

That is a totally ignorant and uneducated response regarding AEM products. No wonder various vendors come to this forum and laugh at the topics and responses, and this is coming from the administrator no less. Soopa, you really need to take a step back and think about some of your posts first and how they may carry negative ramifications in respect to aftermarket support. JMHO

Oh puhleez.

I don't want to hear a thing from either of you.

Scott you need to get off your high horse... you have never made a significant contribution to any going on's here.

Back off already.

And blx... don't get a hard on because your buddy is pissed off at me. I have many times made efforts to support the aftermarket community on hear... particularly small vendors like yourself.

AEM is doing us no favors... and I should be free to express my opinions about their products.

I do not like their brake kits... period.

haha, i've know more about automobiles and have contributed more in this car talk then you ever will. Maybe pic up some AEM products and see how they perform. There parts produce better then nearly everything in it's class. Get a clue before you make these ignorant comments. And dont' get mad cause all of us know your place.

Puhleez...

You are fishing for a fight. Bored little child.

Get a J.O.B. and find something else to do.

Maybe if my daddy bought me cars I would have more experince with them too.

Either way... you may have some knowledge but your useful participation is nill.

You have 7100 ridiculous posts... yet we let you stay here.... still no respect.

You wanna fight... fine. Cross the line again and you will receive your perm ban badge. Fair warning.

Adam, I could care less about what is going on between the two of you. That is your personal business.

I just don't think you should bad mouth one of the few vendors that still provide aftermarket support to the CL unless you have personal issues with that particular product. If you've had one of their brake kits and it didn't meet up to your expectations then that would be a justified statement. But your statement is not valid unless you've provided supporting facts. AEM brake kits are actually highly regarded units, that's why I was very surprised to see that type of comment from you w/out any valid information to support it.

you know exactly what your doing.

dont be sheepish.

Moral of the story is... I'm not a fan of AEM brakes... they look cheezy as fuck. You are a rice boy so of course you'd like them.

But don't go disagreeing for the simple purpose of fighting... i dont wanna hear it.

Fair enough.

I have no data on the performance of AEM brakes.

I am going simply on looks... I don't like how they look. So I am not going to be excited over the fact that we may get a set by default.

How is AEM offering any aftermarket support for OUR car? We got an intake... woo-hoo! And we have some misc. accessories that, yet again, fit our car by default.

I realize you have close ties with AEM...

But I seriously do not feel they have done us any favors. If they came out and said... yea were gonna make a kit for the CL Type-S... I would say "great... a brake kit I can afford" but, thats not what theyre saying.

Adrienne, how nice of you to defend your lil buddy

You know how this operation works. I am not going to explain it to you... and if this wasnt Scott on the other end you would have a different POV.

You of all people should not be chiming in on this topic... you arent much but a "formerly" attractive face who rambles on about rabbits.

You can go too.

Okay, now that is a fair statement. I agree that they haven't made a whole grip of parts for our cars. But at least they have been keeping the type S in the backs of their minds as opposed to completely ignoring it like other companies have. Aftermarket support for this car is sooo thin, an intake and pulleys are a big deal to the type S, which really sucks.
