Taking my headers off. 1 question.

Hello guys im selling my CL-S and i dropped my car off this morning to my local mechanic. When I was handing him my OEM headers i noticed one of the bolts that hold the front or rear plate (not sure) was broken off inside. My mechanic told me I was better off leaving it the way it was. That having 2 of the bolts was enuff. Can anyone comfirm this?
By plates i mean the 2 smaller pieces, not the downpipe. The bolt thats broken is the 1 thats below the other 2.

I take it you are talking about the bolts that hold the heat shield in place? It is absolutely important that all the bolts that hold the heat shield in place be 100% functional.

You should be fine with just 2.

If it's just the heat shield then yeah you'll be fine. I didn't have any heat sheilds for a while on my stock headers.

Thx guys. I will have to use my car without the heatshields until i sell it. I think the shop where i installed my headers forgot to put the heatshields in the box.
How would not having heatshields on my OEM headers affect performance? Does it change anything?

Im only selling my AEM intake (red), my alphawerks headers and my HKS Super Draggers. The TEIN BASICs will stay on the car because i lost my stock suspension.

Items will be posted on the Black Market soon...

You won't see any difference, their purpose is cosmetic.
