Tach jumping around 2k

I purchased my PDG about 4 months ago with 135k on it, tranny replaced at 60k, after owning 2 Legend coupes. A couple months ago I noticed while driving highway speeds the tach would be resting around 2k and then ever so slightly jump. Sounds faintly like it wants to drop to 4th but it wouldnt, I hope thats not a slip. This happens in 5th as well as in SS in other gears. While in SS it never showed it on the LCD on the dash as dropping to 4th so I am crossing my fingers its not a tranny issue. Perhaps a dirty intake or EGR or ICM or whatever that valve is called? I took it to the dealer for a tranny flush and had them drive it and they didnt notice anything. The main reason I took it for the flush was that it also occasionally makes a 'woosh-woosh' sound in 5th while in lower RPMs usually while going on an incline which is why I drive in D4 until I get to highway speeds. Anyone have any of those type issues? Of course it didnt do it at the dealer and actually has rarley done it since the flush which is nice. Anyone that has any input on these issues it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds exactly like what mine was doing after the replacement tranny was put in. I assumed it was the tranny about to go again so that's why I ended up trading it in for my Accord 6spd. I would be cruising at a steady 70 mph but the tach would jump about 250 rpm every few seconds even though I wasn't moving my foot on the gas pedal.

I also noticed if I had it in SS mode and was holding a gear right around 2,500 rpm the tach would jump but obviously it wasn't downshifting because it was in SS.

Interesting that it happened right after you had another one put in. I am trying to figure out if I should dump it as well. Thanks for the input.

I think I had the same problem. Would is ever so lightly move about 100 RPMs at cruise? I cleaned my IACV and the problem smoothed out. You might want to try cleaning it before buying a new one. It couldn't hurt.
