Earlier this morning while i was driving down the street, an OLD woman with no intention of t-boning my Pretty CL-S boned my Drivers side door and the quarter panel. Damages are pretty UGLY-Considering that i hate to fix it.
Few hours later Insurance came "An Estimator", Did the Estimate and suggested that the car has to be totaled. well adjuster called and suggested the price "which at this time I'll not reveal it" and so I asked her to wait until Monday so i can decide on their Offer.
But Anyway I loved my car, i have had lots of FUN and I was totally happy with it.
Here is the Before Picture

So sorry Reidlos to hear the news. My heart drops every time I hear a story like this- there are so few CLs out there and I know how much we all love our cars. But what's up with all the CL accidents we are having this week?
All this bad news really makes me nervous nervous because I love my car and I am really happy with the way I have it set up right now but my car is a 2001 with 180,000 miles on it. It could easily be totaled in a silly fender bender.
I hope all works out for the best with your situation. Most important is that you're ok. Let us know how it goes.

Well About My Wellness...
There were no Observable injuries on me or on my girl but then again I'm not quite sure if we are both OK...since i just came out of a hip-inter-rod-insertion [titanium rod inserted in my hip to support my femur after Motorcycle accident "Yes I was HIT"] which happened few months ago and now I feel weird pain on my hip I'm gon' have my doctor check my hip later on today.
thank you,
R.

Do you not get anything if your title is salvaged or something?
Why even have full coverage then?
There should be new policies regarding salvage titles because that is f*d up if that is the case.
Tons of cars are salvaged all the time now and people are still driving them.
With that philosophy we will just keep producing cars and dumping anything that has 5k or more in damage because who wants to deal with it.

salvage doesnt neccessarily mean bad news for you --- im not sure how your insurance company policies or state laws affect it but...
My cousin bought a theft recovered RSX - so the title was branded "rebuilt" --- some old lady t boned him also and his car was screwed ---
The insurance company ended up totaling for the "book" value of the vehicle, which to say was a little bit more than he paid 2 years prior with a rebuilt title...
I mean lets face it, insurance plays the part of "body work/reapirs dont diminish value" to their advantage ALL the time when you try to get more money out of them with the reasoning that an accident lowers resale... so the same should apply in your favor.

Does it matter a whole lot?

Every claim is different but usually if your driving a salvaged car you will get much less than one with a clean title. A salvaged may look normal on the outside but these vehicles most times are structurally inferior than a non salvaged model. There are several reasons it can be labeled salvaged so it really depends if that label was because of a prior accident.
People get full coverage because they still want to get something if its damaged or stolen.
I have had opportunities to buy salvaged cars for a really inexpensive price I chose not to. Believe me I have many friends in the repair business and if you knew how some of these vehicles were slapped together after an accident you wouldn't want one either.
Salvaged is usually 70% or more of the vehicles value in damage so it could be more or less than 5K depending on the year make and model of the vehicle.

We have always tried our best to make our cars as good or better than they were pre-crash. unfortunately many auto-repairers do not think this way. We dis-affectionately titled these scumbags the "bondo bandits".
we picked up a car from ICBC (Insurance Corporation Of British Columbia) once that had been in what should have been a fairly light accident, not even bad enough to write the car off. unfortunately for the owner A-posts, just above where they meet the frame rail on the drivers side, around the middle of the windshield had not been welded properly after a prior accident, in fact it was held on with three spot welds and a few coats of bondo.
It's a sad truth that many repairers and rebuilders give us all a bad name and drive the value, and claim value of all rebuilds down.

Hey, you know this white CL might not be a bad opportunity if someone is willing to take the risk with an automatic transmission. As stated before, the interior looks well taken care of and the exterior seems like a modest rebuild. You can also buy niteqwill's white RJ body kit and have a pretty hooked up ride.

In my opinion I would stay away from salvaged vehicles that were in front end accidents because more times than not the frame has damage and I have to tell you that if you get into another high impact front end accident with that damaged frame that could be it for you. My 01 was totaled from a front end accident the frame was damaged and the guy I sold it to didn't replace it he has them do a Mickey Mouse repair job on it to save money. Having been in one of those accidents myself if the frame has already been compromised then your taking your life in your hands. When you do buy another one don't take the word of the company or person selling it because more times than not they will tell you the frame wasn't damaged just to sell it to you, have it checked for yourself. Also if your going to keep buying salvaged then you must already know your not going to get that much back when you have a claim.

meh, i've owned many a salvage vehicles, some were more work then others to bring back to life, some almost MINT and required almost no work. my current CL is a salvage title car, poor thing was badly rearend back in 2001, restored in 2003. going strong still (sure its had its ups and downs but nothing caused by the wreck)
