System is in!! woohoo!! (pics)

http://public.fotki.com/langjae/system/

Check the sig for specs. I'll post pics of dvd's on the screen as soon as I take the ps2 out from my living room and put it into the car. I took the nav out of the Benz since my mother doesnt really use it anyway and put it in the CL.

If you guys are looking into replacing the stock speakers..do it!! These speakers are amazing and they come with crossovers and the sound is the best I've ever heard. I forgot how much I missed a high quality system. I thought I could live with the Bose, but no way. My navi was cheaper than factory too.

Let me know what you guys think.. thanks

jeremy

That's the first aftermarket headunit installed in a 2001 CL that actually looks nice. Very clean. Why'd you go with tubes? How do they sound in the CL?

Hahahaha...The tubes are in because after that Head Unit I AM OFFICIALLY POOR!!! That's what I had from my old 3000gt. It sounded great in there because of the hatch style. I'll change them when I come across some cash.

The head unit plays video, I'll pop in a Video casette or DVD tonight and take some pics. The PS2 as you can see hooks up in the back rear console for easy removal.

The Alpine Amp is new but fairly cheap. And I got the RF one nearly free so I just threw those in and I'll "plug and play" with some better ones once I get some more income.

I spent a little more than I wanted in the first place but it'll be a while before I change shit around, but its doable for now.

Just a comment, there is hope for us Non-Navi people. The aftermarket is not as good as stock, but can be done for far less than the cost of the factory option. Plus the reason why I didn't get navi in the first place..I didn't really like the Temp gauges and dials on the console when its under the factory nav screen. But it's all good.

Let me get any more feedback and ideas since the system will always be changing as financial situations allow. Whats some good subs and amps...? Anyone selling cheap? hehe

Wow, thats really tight. I really like Alpine stuff but i've heard great things about McIntosh Amps. For subs maybe Eclipse Titanium's or Alumapros. Oh yea Boston's are nice.

This looks like the GPS antenna installed on the passenger side dashboard.
