The Cl doesn't have a back heater due to the side air bags in the seat. Only the bottom heats up.

CL only has back heater in the driver seat. having a back heater in the passenger side would interfere with the OPDS unit. even the TSX's don't heat up.
You can pull a pad, but the wires are probably burned up in that pad anyway. it's better to spend 5-10mins to solder in 12awg wires and have a permanent fix.

I heard its a B(&^& to do the fix since the seats are so heavy. but if you do, post up a DIY. I would want to tackle this someday. My back doesnt work and the passenger doesnt work either

there's already DIY's in the TL side.. and it's heavy if you're weak.. but for normal people it's not that hard.

is it more simple to switch out the pad instead of soldering it? i have a working back pad for the driver seat from my old cl-s...i think it would beat havnig to solder it...

btw, yesterday i tried to unhook the leather..it seems that the leather wouldnt come off and is attached to the pad??..any ideas? i read the tl forums regarding the fix..but it doesnt takl about the pad being attached and how to remove the leather completely...i dont want to rip anything im not suppose to

there's upholstery hooks on every edge of the leather, held on by hog rings. you have to open all the hog rings and unhook them from the long metal bars.

and sure you can replace the pad, but the pad itself is not the problem. it's the thin gauge wire that spans the seat connecting the pads together (not the heating elements themselves) that burns up. so you could very well have this problem next year with brand new pads installed
