Sweeet Paint!
Anyone know how much a GOOD paint job will run you with minor body work needed? Any experiences with getting a new paint job? Or has anyone tried the FLAT paint? I was watching Rob & Big and there new suv and pinto was FLAT BLACKED out and it was sweeeeeeeeeeeet! Just thinking how it would look on the CL. If someone has pictures if any CL with flat paint please post.

I'm not sure what the differences will be, but just to give you some kind of idea.
My '04 GMC Envoy is currently at the body shop geting stripped down completely repainted. There was already slight damage on the rear bumper (scuffing scratching etc.) They are paiting it NBP which is the same color as my TL. My quote was 4,551.00 You might expect to pay less since your car is obviously smaller than my SUV.
Hope this information is helpful!
Good luck!

Actually you need to research the flat look. They are a few ways to do it. The way you don't want is when no clear is applied. The paint will have no protection from the sun or weather.
The cost difference is in prep work. The better prep work is done to the car the better the paint will look. Paint isn't that much $ but the prep work & trim removal is.

I think flat paint would look good on a car with more dramatic styling, but on a CL with Ho-Hum styling, it would seem slightly off. Maybe with a bodykit, and a slammed srop and some 19" wheels, but to do the paint job like that with minor mods would seem weird. Usually reserved for cars like the Nissan Silvias, Evos with widebody or STI's.
Oh, and with paintjob's you get what you pay for, really.

Hmm...yeah i hear you Ron just tryna switch up the look a lil (so i can crush you at nopi .. ) j/k. I would like to atleast TRRYY the flat paint though, i wish someone had one already so i could see what it looks like. If i did get the flat i would get the black rims and paint the lip black as well....i think that would be sweeet as hell, maybe throw a carbon fiber hood and black out the grill with glossy paint..Hmmm might be hangin with you then chief! :-)

To do it right you can't use primer cause it lets moisture through. My dad is building a 1936 Ford and he ran it in flat blue primer for 1 year and it start to fade. The way you paint flat to keep it forever is pick a basecoat color and then put flattener in the clear coat. Like Ron said u get what you pay for. My dad has roughly 7 grand to get his painted. Thats no metal work being done, just blocked and painted. I love the way flat paint looks. It also looks great when you use a metallic basecoat or put pearl in the clear with the flattner. Sorry for the run on but I just don't want to see you take it some where and regret it.....
