Sways

Just added Comptech sways yesterday---wasnt sure that they'd be all I heard they were. I was amazed---the car feels lighter (just like you said, Dan) and so much tighter. Going through turns is a HUGE improvement--I can see now why so many of you went to better tires. I'll keep mine for now (only have 13K on them), but it will probably be the next mod. The sways are really cost effective, if what you're looking for is better handling.

As this topic seems to be getting lots of play right now, what are your thoughts on any change(s) to overall ride comfort with the new sways? Do you feel road bumps more? What car did you own before the Acura?

Just curious so as to gauge your thoughts on comfort based on your experiences. Figure if someone had owned a GM living room sofa (Caddy), then anything might be harsh.

You asked about other cars.

the Dr's sister had a Puke-shoow (Puegot) 502. The car had 5 transmissions rebuilt (what a POS)

BUT, the car handled rather well around turns, but would drive over nasty pot holes and speed bumps and 50 mph. The springs were very soft, but the sway bars were at least 1 and 1/2 inches in diameter. The car rode very softly, had terrible brake dive, but was flat as could be around turns. Sis would fly down the road.

Dr's thoughts:

The current tires are springs in their own right. They are so bloody soft, that they are like rubber springs. Someone needs to try adding the swaybars AFTER adding some serious rubber to the car.

Well said, Doc. BTW, I appreciate your 3rd-person style, thoughful comments, and subtle wit.
