Sway bar install by way of insanity
Here are some pictures of my Neuspeed Sway-Bar install that I “tried” to do today.
It actually took me more time to jack up the car, place the jack stands, get my tools out then it did for me to strip that one @#$%!ing bolt in the last picture. Words cant express how thrilled I am with the install so far.
Tomorrow I get to run down to Acura parts and get the $31 dollar piece of Japans finest engineering. Those crafty little devils decided put a 5mm allen key inside the 14 mm unfixed bolt at the bottom of the suspension knuckle. I like how they’ve been able to blend difficulty with bizarre engineering that works. Sitting there in my driveway marveling at this engineering phenomenon and rambling to myself about Japanese engineering I thought of two or three other “easier” ways to achieve the same design without the use of a 5mm allen key inside the 14mm unfixed bolt at the bottom of the suspension knuckle but what fun would that be I kept asking myself.
I’m so excited for tomorrow and even more excited about tackling the front. All this has spurred me on to write a book about Japanese engineering entitled “The most complex and convoluted form of simplicity” its sure to be a best seller.

Only thing keeping me from a having a date with a stool, some rope and a basement rafter is the DVD I got in the mail today.

Those end links are a clear indication that all is not well in the land of the rising sun .I have seen some piss poor engineering but those things are in the "classics" section in my personal archives along with electrical systems as designed in Italy where it is popular to use relays to control other relays that will ultimately possibly maybe actually turn something on and off in a car .ANother "classis" is from the VW where in an apparent effort to silence any potential criticism from cup holder fans worldwide a wonderfully engineered cupholder was installed above the radio in my car .Great idea you can either enjoy your drink or operate the radio but not both at the same time.
