Surfboard Rack for CL

Hey Does any one know a way to transport a surfboard with our cars. Mine is to long to fit inside. I don't want anything permanent. I'm looking for something temporary with no drilling. Something I can take on and off as I please.

Lol, crack the sunroof and go sharkfin?

It's fairly easy to remove the back part of the back seat, but there may be some framing in the way. You might be able to lay an 8ft board from trunk to dashboard across the passenger seat laying down with that out of there.

I could take out the back seat but I would like to keep all the seats available.

I've been trying to figure out this problem for about a year now man...Your best bet is a Yakima or Thule hard rack that latches on to the rails by the doorsills..

I normally use the other car for surf trips, but I feel your pain completely.
My quiver ranges from 6'6''-9'3'', so I need one just as bad lol

Only problem is, they go from $200+

Get these. You just strap them on your car, then strap your board in and that's it. As temporary and convenient as it gets. You can fit 3+ boards in one of these. Just separate them by a folded towel and put the smallest board on the bottom face down (wax down).

Lol Link Fail...I think he's talking about FCS soft racks...although most of them require you to have a four door car..not to mention the mounting points would be quite awkward

Oh yeah, link failed. But yes FCS or similar type soft racks. If you ride a short board 5'10" - 6'6", I think you could do it. One in the front of your door and one to the rear?
