Supra Turbo or 98 to 00 Vette?

I would get the corvette. That thing is a fucking monster. It will blow the doors off of a STOCK supra turbo. Also, the handling is sweet.
But you have to remember one thing, it all depends on what you looking for. If you want something that will tear almost anything on the road, the vette is your choice. If you looking for something you are actually going to be confortable driving, you might consider the supra instead. I know you can mod a supra out the A-hole, but you can do the same to a vette.
If I was you, I would get the vette. The 2000 corvette is just a beauty.

i had the same choice to make but mine was between a z06 and a supra. i choose the supra. if you want a car you can modify then its a supra. to modify a z06 would cost a lot of cash. you cant just go out and get a boost controller and a few other things like the supra and make it fast as hell. as for the comment on a vette blowing the doors off the supra, what the hell are you smoking? it is only .3 fatser to 60 and i might be wrong but the supra might be a bit quiker in the 1/4 mile but not by much. as for handling the vette holds a .91g on the skidpad and the supra holds a .98g. well in my opinion get the supra. theres nothing like the sound of turbos spooling and blow off valves.

the supra will probably last longer than the vette. the vette may be faster, but i wouldn't want all those rattles and squeaks after a couple of years. i just think the supra is too awesome. the supra can be modifed to be faster than the vette anyway.

Supra.
For the simple reason that it has amazing potention for massive HP.
Think you can mod a Vette as easily/cheaply as a Supra? Think again.
Simply raising the boost pressure will put you way ahead of a stock Vette.

I have to agree with Tom...there's a 90 something Vette at Sears Point...wait, a CALLAWAY TWIN TURBO VETTE....and it only runs something on the order of 11s...with slicks...I'm sure that conversion must have cost more than the vette...probably close to 40K..

Lucky man! I'd like either one, but I think I'd prefer the Supra. There used to be a few on the Dupont Registry, but I'm not sure if there are any on there right now...

It must be tough being in your shoes.
I'd have to go with the Supra though bro'. That is one of the slickest looking imports around and you only see one once in a blue moon!!!! OUCH. I'm very envious!!!

Absolutely without doubt go for the Supra.Unless you want to be one of those middle aged guys on a second childhood cruisin the streets for chicks with lots of gold chains driving a Vette.Mind you Vettes are nice but they are BORING to look at and everyone assumes you are having your midlife crisis when they you driving one.The Supra on the other hand is a rocket sled with wild looks amazing amounts of potential Camry reliability and almost everyone is nuts about the car.Jens

TT vette will cost over 100K... IF U PUT 100K into a supra... i wanna know how fast the supra will be... i m prettty sure it can be under 11
other than performance,, look at the interior of the corvette.... IT S JUST SAME AS OTHER CHEVY... the CD player... ... I like the interior of Supra.. even tho there s nothing fancy but i like the way that the CD player facing the driver and the short shifter

No...really the conversion is like 40K...and it's true you can get it into the 10s...but it requires a full rollcage when you run 10.99 and faster....probably doesn't want to do that... QUOTE]Originally posted by oonowindoo:

Supra. Just the interior quality and the lack of the AC Delco radio make it my choice.
But, Z06 is a much meaner car. Anyone who dissagrees with that is just a supra-a-holic.
The Z06 can lay down 12's and pull 1 g STOCK.
But, just to be warned, the Z06 is freaking loud on the inside. If it's a daily driver you may not like how it roars constantly.

Both are nice car...too bad we in the US can't get any 1998+ Supra (VVTI + TT). If you like to keep it stock, go with the 2002 Vette (405HP) or for around $2000 you can make your Supra TT to around 400~430RWHP=440~500HP. You can find more info at www.mkiv.com.
or you can try the Viper....

Although I would probably choose the Supra myself. These stereotypes of Vette owners are rediculous.
In my mind, I see many people driving Supra's which they have a nice car, but live in an apartment or with their parents and are mortgaged to the hilt... Is it all about image??
BTW, I have yet to see a Supra turn a 1320' ET in the sevens, LT1s and LS1s have done it...
