well it was the most recent body style supra with the big wing and all. i dont really know anything about supras are there non turbo ones???the funny thing is i had my friend with me. we saw the guy turn from off the main street, but i was way ahead. i started going really slow we were laughing are asses off i was going 35 in a 55. i kept sayin "im realin him in" ,then bam there he was and the light just turned from yellow to red ...a car was between us but, i bumped my car off the neutral rev a couple times to let him know he had entered the big dogs neighbor hood.put it in drive no VSA no air, brake torquing. light em up off the start but hook up quick and never gave up position to him .most of the way through 1st i hear him chirp second.my friend s looking at his friend as we're pulling half a car or so and i instinctivly bump SS into second but "OH!OH!!!" im not in SS floored back into drive and BIG CHIRP !!! im now three cars on him as i finish second. i see him shutt it down i throw on the hazards and pull off to turn around. my friends house was passed realing this guy in. he said the look on that guys friends face was like WTF? i dont think there friends anymore ?LOL

I think the is300 and the gs300 and the supra share the same engine. (not turbo)

I never rode or drove a NA. To me they are a waste of time and money. There are kits to turbo charge NA's but they limit the power to 400hp tops due to the higher compression of a non-turbo engine. The CL-S and NA Supra should be about the same speed. Seeing you beat him by about 3 cars at speed makes me think you are the better driver. The fastest magazines put the NA is 0-60 in the low sixes for a stick, not sure about the auto. About the same as a CL-S. Good race though.
I've had friends race me in there lightly moded supra turbos(400 rwhp). You would think since I have 590 rwhp the race wouldn't even be close but if they get the jump it can be close if we take it only to 60mph. After that or on the freeway when the turbo has full boost it isn't even close. The only close race I've had is a guy with a 550 HP skyline. This was during a huge sports car meet with vipers, vettes, supras, ferrari, and all sorts of high power sports cars. We let the cars in front of us get about 1/4 mile jump before we punched it. By the end of the strech we were running about 170 and still pulling hard. I barely pulled on him but we started to catch the cars in front of us fast. Getting up there to 170 was easy, but to my shock stoping was the scary part.
