The NA has the same block but different heads and pistons. Since it does not have a turbo the 2jz-ge (NA engine) has higher compression. The 2jz-ge is currently in the IS300.

How hard would it be to convert it? If I've got to buy a single kit anyway, I basically need most of the parts for that anyway so who needs the stock dual setup. Around here, NA Supras go for beans. TT Supras are focking $$$$ tho.

Auto is, GENERALLY, more consistent at the track. Or, it is easier to be consistent with an auto.

If you want to turbocharge an NA supra, the best bet would be to look for kits for IS300s

Screw that. I want 800hp not 400 hehe. I asked how hard it would be to swap the heads. If I got one, it'd be a full build anyway. So, besides the head, I would have to buy all the single turbo parts anyway. I was just wondering if I could use a NA block, b/c NA Supras are cheap as hell. That'd prob be the only way I would get one. I might looked for a wrecked FI with the engine intact. I dunno....

800 hp can be done!
http://www.supraturbo.com/street_power_jan-feb%2098.htm

but... one problem the tranny

The na 5-speed is tough and can hold up high hp levels.
While the na automatic can hold about 300hp if you want more you are beefing up the tranny. And that is sorry say... $$$

Not only that it is not worth building a 2jz-gte (FI Engine) out of a 2jz-ge (NA Engine) too much money and headache. You can swap the head because it is the same block, but you might need to swap the pistons (na has higher compression pistons, not sure of the specs...)

Lets not forget about the fuel system, ingition system, intake, exhust, cooling, control system.

My opinion too may things to deal with. Easier to swap in a 2jz-gte from a wreck TT supra (but rare to find a 2jz-gte at a junk yard)

Or got to tighten the belt and spend the cash for a TT.

Sorry to be the barer of bad news but that is how it is after F&F came out. Movie copycats all wanted a TT Supra, making it hard to find one for a good price.

I've read on several Supra sites where the auto's are faster than the sticks...

That is true. Some of the autos are faster than the manuals.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll just have to be on the lookout for a deal on a TT model. Maybe one day...

How much HP can be had while keeping an N/A supra, N/A? I've never heard of this being done, but I'm sure someone has.

Problem is finding one that hasn't been wrecked. I looked at getting one before the cls. Found three for sale ALL had salvage titles..

I was looking for some 1000+ hp supras to show you guys, only found this unconfirmed one on CarDomain.

There was this site like suprabadass.com or someshit, where they had all of these on display. I've personally seen a couple of amazingly fast Supras.

Check http://www.suprastore.com/stag8upkit12.html for their Stage 8 kit that lets you hit 1200 hp on the TT.
