For 50G, there a ton of very nice pre-owned options - M3, Carerra, NSX, Ferrari 308/328/344, maybe high milage M5, previous gen E55, ZO6, Viper. I lean towards an F-Car, just because it is an F-Car. But, an M3 or NSX would likely perform better and cost a whole lot less to maintain (no $5,000 services every 15K miles). Just curious....

 

With $50K, you can buy an NSX... rebuild the engine... turbo/supercharge it... put nice wheels on... paint the car and have a SWEEEEEET ride!!

 

maybe an M3, S4 or 03 cobra (and mod the hell out of it).

 

z06 by far...best bang for your buck, where else can you get that much speed for that little cost, and its fun

I’d do my best to wheel & deal to get the price of a Mercedes CLK-500 down to 50-grand.

Or buy a used Viper GTS. Should be able to find a 96-98 vintage for that much.

i'd get a STI WRX and mod it out.

 

At this point, sure. But, once my lease is up, I am considering buying the CL. W/ no car payment, cheaper registration, insurance etc, I figure I'll keep the CL as the daily sled. Rather than buying a new car for say 40K, I'd rather buy the CL (figure 15K), and put the remainder (about 25K) down on a toy, financing about half of it. W/out getting into the finance vs. buy arguments, I figure this would be a nice way to decorate the garage.

 

I'd either get a S2000 and put a custom turbo/intercooler setup on it . get a WRX Sti and put a bigger turbo on it, and put some go fast goodies on it. According to Car and Driver they tested a new WRX(without the new Sti) with M2 aftermarket package(which is a aftermarket company) it ran a 13 second 1/4 mile time. with the Sti it will tap into 12.5 range i bet

 

I'd get an S4. (30k) and then do the RS4 kit on it(6-9k) and then I would chill!

 

Saab 9-3 Viggen : strengthen the engine, get a huge turbo, run constant race gas, get the hottest/widest 18's available, and if there is any money left, convert it to 4wd

Who the hell would expect a 10-11 second Saab?

but I think with $50K I would buy the new Honda Accord with Navi and pay to put in the engine and the seats from my CL-S ( don't want to lose my 7 year warranty on the tranny). Then I would try to transfer the CL-S HIDs to the new Accord and transfer the TL bose system to the new Accord. I know its difficult to get but hey we can all dream a little anyways.

 

I'd get a 93 Mustang Notchback and make go so fast that I'd need a parachute to stop!!!!!!

 

I probably would wait for the next generation of Lexus GS sport sedan.

 

I would go with the M3 all the way.

CLK500 nuff said. With 50 grand cash in hand money talks. Dealers are willing to give you better deals if you are able to pay the car off in full up front. I would deal and deal to it WILL HAPPEN. Or I will just hop over to BMW lot and get a M3 6spd not SMG OR see who can give me a used RS4. No matter what I will be happy.

 

i'd buy a house/apartment building and put 50k down. I'd rent the house out and then chill. Figure I'd make a profit of at least 1k a month, so i can use that for car mods
