Supercharger Vs. 3.5L upgrade

I want to know which of the two is preferred because it seems like for at least in the near future you can't have both. Keep in mind the initial cost difference and the installation cost difference. Also if someone were to get the supercharger they can still get the obx headers, an option not available for the 3.5L engine. I want to hear what others have to say.

youre alittle off and this has been done..not trying to be a dick...but the headers are not required with the 3.5 theyre just required if you want the full performance gains to be realized....

Why can't you get both. Build a 3.5 motor with 9.5:1 compression pistons and get a pulley that can spins the s/c to maybe 10 psi and you have a nice strong 400+hp motor. Keep in mind the necessary fuel and timing mods are required as well.

Sorry I'm not an expert nor claim to be, just someone looking for answers. Correct me if I'm wrong but are you all telling me the OBX headers fit the MDX 3.5L engine? I drive a 01 MDX, can I have the OBX headers installed without trouble?

here's where your confusion is...the MDX block is not different on the out side ...the pistons just move up and down alittle further in side the block, refered to as stroke...now that said, it doesnt mean there arent other things in the way of the headers and your transmisiion is certainly different...but at the price theyre available for its worth seeing what it would take to get them to fit...but more bad news for you...there arent many places that can dyno AWD, so youd have to assume they gave you more power...personally i believe you'd get 25hp on an MDX

Sweet, 25hp sounds really good to me. That would put my MDX at about 275hp with my custom intake, sounds almost too good to be true. There has to be a but...like "but it won't work on the MDX." Maybe I'm just being pessamistic because I didn't expect there to ever be any significant mods for my MDX ever.

well the guy that made my engine has a few things done to his MDX including working right now on fabbing the nessecary peices to make the comptech superchrager fit...the but to your headers is...you almost certaily will have to get a muffler shop to do some bending but it's not that big a deal and wouldnt cost much
