Supercharger problem Fixed

Just wanted to tell everyone, especially those of you who told me to check the soldering of the ESM that that was in fact the solution to the surging. Comptech looked it over completely and agreed that was the problem. Not enough voltage or something like that, i'll let Scalbert and the others explain how that affected it running rich

Car ran great today with no probs, hopefully that's it !!

Thanks again to all of you who tried to help out

The only way would be with a poor connection. But that would only drop the signal due to increased resistance. Or maybe it was quickly cutting out. Regardless, I did not use their connectors and used my own. I never had this type of problem.

I just wonder if there is some sort of issue with the ESM not liking a higher impedance circuit (badd connection) for some reason and giving a false signal to the ECU.

Did that solve your surging before the car warm up? or when your car is cold?. I solve my surging problem by turning up the FPR to 46psi at idle.

The ESM for the CompTech S/C is spliced into the ECU using several wires. CompTech provides in-line wire tap terminals for the spliced in connections. However, a number of people (including myself) have had misfire and surging problems caused by poor electrical connections. To correct this, the ESM connections to the ECU are soldered instead of using wire terminals that are merely crimped.

Since I soldered my ESM gas my mileage went way up, idle is smoother, car has more power, and belive it or not the car brakes much better, no more shaky steering wheel due to super hot rotors .

I also saw better gas mileage after having the connections soldered.
