If ya live in FL, I'd probably go 3.5L. I'm assuming that it would be less likely to fail. Plus, you at least get a 1 year warranty.

I would do the 3.5L upgrade first. You will have your engine stronger and your car will be faster and unique. Then after you have saved up more money, you can go on ahead and get the Supercharger and you won't have to worry about your engine or anything not being able to handle the extra power because you have the Upgrade..... just my .02

3.5 and buy lower compression pistons so you can get a custom turbo with more psi for probably the same amount of money a comptech costs

I would go with the charger b/c it wouldnt void my warranty. But both would be nice also.

not really comparing the same thing here...

doesn't the S/C cost about 4x times as much as the 3.5L ??

I'd go 3.5 liter. Not only b/c it's cheaper and results in stronger engine internals... but b/c you will have a warranty on it since a dealer sells the upgrade.

With the S/C you're taking your chances....

Tough choice.

For me, living VERY far away from Florida, I'd prolly go supercharger.

I'm not too sure exactly how the warranty will work with the supercharger though. It seems like it would be ALOT of stress of my auto tranny, and may result in quite a few replacements!!!

Will the supercharger be warrantied up to my 100K mile warranty? ? ?

IF they could blame the tranny blowing on the supercharger, what happens? ? ?

is there any other else upgraded when u do the 3.5 like ecu or something. will the motor still look the same. i might do this if i could possibly get away with the warranty issue. i mean if i have 3.5 and my tranny goes out and when the techs open my hood will it be noticable?

sidemarker,

At stock boost levels, your warranty should be fine. Comptech has had a couple of boosted automatic cars running around for months and they have no issues at all.

I don't think there would be alot of difference between a 3.2 and a 3.5. .3 Liter? I wouldn't bother going to the expense of an engine change over. Besides, the warranty comes into question. The difference in power between the 3.5 and the 3.2 would be too insignificant for the bother.

Yes, the 3.5L upgrade does cost less than the blower but there is more to install. You have to pull the entire engine whereas the SC is a bolt-on. Gains will probably be greater with the SC also. So IMO, the SC is the way to go alone.

But there is something very attractive with the stealth of the 3.5L upgrade...

Now if you can do all of the labor your self, why not just do both??

personally I'd go with the motor swap. because you could bore the motor and put in a bigger cam and get more HP. and forge the lower end and do 100 shot of NOS and be OFF THE HOOK but you won't have a warrenty. and that is if your tranny will hold it.
