Question Supercharged Members............

I have a dead battery(smaller battery req w CTSC) in my 03 CL-S 6spd. How to you go about removing the battery without having to remove the blower? Is there any special technique for the removal? I have already removed the Cold intake and I don't have enough space to get it out.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Well you can try removing it this way, haven't tried it yet though:
Tilt the battery into a horizontal position towards the engine pick it up and try and take it out from the blower that way.

edit: Just tried it the fan shroud barely gets in the way, so youll have take out the two bolts that hold the Comptech battery tray and slide it over towards the rear of the car and then try and pull it out.

When battery died I had to remove the throttle body and tuck it to the side. I was able to manipulate the battery out eventually. If I remember correctly, the bottom edge of the battery that rests inside the battery tray tended to hang up on the angle plate of the tray. So, when I finally removed the battery, I trimed out a little of that metal plate to eliminate that hang-up.

This is why I relocated mine to the trunk. No way I have the patience for some crappy battery. Just something you may want to think about.

yeah my throttle body was also off today but I wasnt sure if he was willing to do that so I tried to suggest a manner to remove it that involved working around the TB.

Battery relocation does have its benefits, although if you go dragging, they tend to want you to have a battery box for it if its in the back.

Guys thanks a mil for your assistance. I did have to remove the TB, Cold intake box and release the two bolts to get the battery out. It was not that hard but is not something that I want to do every twelve months. Anybody else has relocated the battery to the trunk? What does it entail?

yeah, my local track requires you to have the box and an external cutoff switch if you go faster than 14's

Here was my solution to relocating the battery to the trunk. I modified the battery tray and put a serious battery in it's place. I too had no desire to deal with an undesized battery every year or so.
