Oh Did I mentioned that Level ten will be there....

To get SC with 275-280 HP to the wheels, you would spend the extra $2.4k on FULL level 10 rebuilt tranny, The shoould better certidied to handle such torque/HP numbers.....

so are you saying that if I buy the supercharger, I will have to get a Level 10? Or is it recommended?? I mean I have about 25k on my car and i havent had any problems with my tranny. **Knock on wood**

Seems like alot of money to put down just to get a supercharger.

The only warranty they mention on their website is a 90 day warranty I believe. I'll let someone else be the guinea pig. Or maybe you have some other warranty details they gave you over the phone? I'd hate to spend the extra $2,400 and then have the tranny fail and no warranty to fall back on, not even Acura's.

Check out the 400 ft-lb / 500 HP rating for the "upgrade kit":

See enclosed "kit" -- if you know someone to put the "upgrade" parts in...

I find the "Fixes early rev limiter max out on shifts, slide bump shifts, no shifts, no 2nd or 3rd gear, no engagement. " very interesting.

I wish I could get more information, but I don't see any gears in that kit.

So, yes who's the guinea pig?

Calling Astroboy, calling Astroboy, come and get it

They don't change the gears, just reinforce the other mechanisms I guess. And the upgrade does sound awesome, but the question is, is our tranny worth upgrading. I'd like to know what the weaknesses of the stock tranny are before trying to make it stronger. Maybe Level 10 has more insight on this.

The guy I called said they did NOT change the gears, but then I didn't call 18 times and ask for a written letter.

I'd love to know what the weaknesses of the stock tranny are too, but I don't think this info will be coming from Acura (Ok, surprise me)...

Finally, the electronic shift kit (Regular AKA slow, sport, race) electronic board update should be killer. I don’t know about you, but I have to shift at just before 6900 to miss the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift in SS

It would be nice if they did change the gears so that we would just have one overdrive gear and the rest more performance oriented than tailored for fuel economy, but I'm sure this would cost more than the $2,500.

You also have to remember that this figure only includes the tranny rebuild, you still have to have someone uninstall and then reinstall the tranny, unless you do it yourself, which adds more to the cost.

RE: Gear change --> boy, that would be a very tall order. It just isnt like swapping out manual gear sets *or* they have that planetary gear changer that you can put on RWD cars to change the "effective" ratios" (of all the gears).

RE: Labor cost --> Yep, it will cost, and the question that I did NOT get answered is... "What happens if the transmission is a bit flakey..."

And --> I did see Kevin M selling his car. We are getting short on pioneers (or make me wrong – please!)

I have the Level 10 torque converter. I told Pat about my plans to get the supercharger & blah blah blah. He let me know some insite on the tranny problems, also what to get & expect. Everyone there is really cool especially the owner Pat.
They have already been rebuilding our entire trans' many o times. While I was at the shop there was our trans fully rebuilt bullet proof CL-S trans sitting right infront of my eyes on a shelf.
They do good work & stand by it.
