i was thinking about getting it and converting it back to stock and then flipping it,but its not really worht the money. it wouldnt go for 15. and even then it will be really hard to find a buyer who would pay that much for it.

It's overpriced for several reason's the buyer probably will have to pay to remove the hideous red stitching, It will definitely need a major service done to it because it has pretty much been sitting for 3-4 years on dealer or auction lots and the car is 7-8 years old. The paint is bad because since it hasn't been taken care and who knows if there is anything else wrong since most of the places that have had this car are very vague when asked questions about it.
I tried checking mine when I first got mine.
I don't know what I was doing and I didn't pay for a service.
It said I had a crazy # too.
I would like to check mine for the heck of it.
Even thou it really would not mean crap because if something gets broke ,it gets fixed.
I also plan on hanging on to it.

Carfax shows 18 records, AutoCheck shows 19.
And IIRC AutoCheck doesnt show service in their history, so thats 19 events.
Instead of paying for the CarFax, call the dealer, act like your interested and ask them to fax you the CarFax report.

and anyways most dealers, you just enter the vin, and the report should be free, and pop right up i thought
Yea, it would show a title change, but if there are 19 of them (gross exaggeration, I know) it should still raise some red flags for a car thats only 7 years old.
Oh, and this same dealer is currently selling a Ford box truck. Who knows how they treated this car on the lot.

Carfax or Autocheck?
I have 7 records on my car (prior to my ownership).

The only service records are Inspections, and thats because Auto Check doesnt pull the service records. Car Fax actually had less records on my car then Auto Check.
The re-title in 2006 was when the PO paid off the car. They only put 13k miles on the car from 5/2006 to 8/2008 when I bought the car.

Carfax does not always show every record. A member here (can't remember the name but his 6MT was stolen twice) ran the VIN after his insurance company paid him and it shows the car being re-registered, but never stolen or having a rebuilt title.

very easy to do, register it in another state, and bring it back, it wipes the record, especially for salvage titles (here in Colorado, Texas registrations don't fully transfer here), reason why they need a nation wide database, and not just by state
and BTW carfax is optional for insurances to report to, it is a business afterall, and why the hell would a insurance report it, when they can make more money on it with a "clean" title
so will see how it goes
can anyone help out jacobpockros with $10?? i too am really curious about this car, and we could finally find out.
but first someone should try and get one from the dealer. let's do it Azine.

CARFAX and similar services are meant to be used as a guide they are by no means full proof and are just another tool we can use to get as much information about a vehicle so we can make an educated decision on a purchase. Using these reports as well as getting the vehicle inspected by a mechanic and or body shop will always be the most full proof.

, especially the steering wheel
