Super charger upgrade?

Scalbert, any plans to upgrade the size of the blower to say maybe get 12 psi out of it?
Or have we reached a limitation due to traction?

Just curious, Thanks.

I don't think 12 psi would be safe with our stock compression ratio. I think the boost limit is already being stretched to the max with 8-9lbs of intercooled boost. Maybe if you had a rebuilt block with a lower compression, somewhere around 9-9.5:1 12 psi would be no problem.

When people do the 3.5L conversion, do they get a lower compression ratio on the car or am I mistaken? If so, doing that conversion and then adding the blower might allow you to run 12psi.

If I sound stupid I am when it comes to this stuff (:

They can get a combination of rods and pistons to come to a different compression ratio. Although they can stay at the stock ratio or go even higher if they desire.

Zero traction already though. Can't imagine what would happen with an additional 100 whp. Oh yeah I do... broken transmission, clutch, axles, CV joints.... Unfortunately there is a maximum amount of power we can put through our drivetrain.

And how much might that be?

I'd think scalbert and allmotor are getting pretty close to maxing out the power, although they'd have a better answer to the question.

Just curious, Thanks.

There are a couple of problems. First off is that on the stock CR we are limited to about 8 - 9 PSI intercooled on pump gas. More than that and the you quickly exceed the octane requirement.

The second problem is the blower its self. The MP62 is too small to make that boost without spinning well beyond its limits. We would have to change out the blower and go to the MP90. However, that would not be a bolt on affair and would require a new inlet and outlet. I have looked at this but when combined with the first issue it may never be really done.

IMO, 350+ WHP is about as much as you want on the street in this car if being used daily. This can easily be made now with the current blower.
