i heard that the sundance gold cl-s is a limited edition car,does anyone know anything about this?

They only made 900 Sundance Gold CLS and it's really rare to see them on the road. (especially here in BC)

Technically it's not labeled as a Limited Edition. What happened was that Acura cut production of that color mid-way through the year b/c it was not a popular color.
That said I think they're pretty sweet. I see one from time to time and I liked them... but they weren't selling well, so the color was axed.

I kind of remember that 900 number being thrown around from when the car was first released.
It was described as a “model introduction” color.
All the early magazine reviews were mostly the gold ones too.
You’re definitely right about the lack of sales though.
Back in late 2000 before the prices got discounted much, dealers were offering big discounts of 1,500 or more off the leftover gold ones.

most people like the color from my own experience
It took me about 6 months to find it in my area, what i like about it is that is a real head turner and shines real nice in the sun. But the Acura touch up paint for that color SUCKs the few touch up spots are like night and day compared to the rest car.

When i first test drove the CL back in 2001 (2 years before i bought it) i was given a PDG to take out on my own. I was turning heads all over the town as i drove past.

I found a sundance gold with navi here in town I may buy. What do you guys think about being able to find a buy for it in the future? Do you think it could be difficult to sell because of the color? (even though I like it)

I like to think of myself as ultra rare and limited edition PDG w/ Navi. Makes me feel warm too Plus I believe the only reason it didn't sell well is becasue the car was ahead of it's time. i can't possibly remember all the compliments I get on the color of my car. Just about everyone I know absolutely loves it but when it was first introduced in 2000...no-one thought anything of it. Now u can buy many newer model cars in very similar colors. like the 350, grand-am, pt cruiser, CTS, scion, FX35, Civic, etc...
