stupid question from a old timer here

when we burnout, or get wheelspin from a standstill, vsa off, how many tires are burning rubber 1 or 2?

no flames please, hard day at work today

Mostly one......since we have an open differential...the passenger side one is the one that gets most of the power...

Are you really sure about this? I've spun out tires on the CL and on my manual Mazda Protege and a bunch of my family's cars, and I've always seen two exactly parallel and symmetrical patches of rubber on the road....

I see how it would make sense in theory, but I don't think it actually happens that way...

It depends on the road surface, tires, road crown, and other issues. Depending on time, place (who knows what else), I've gotten 2 perfect stripes or just 1 stripe from FWD and RWD open diffs...

It could be one or two tires. Depends on many parameters.
