Stupid Question but is there a shift kit available for us?

Well here goes my ignorance about our tranny but......is there a transgo shift kit or somthing available to stifen up the shifts on our auto tranny??? I had a 97 Z28 Auto a few years ago and I used a Hypertech Power Programmer to improve shift responce but i know there was a trans go shift kit available too if I wanted to. I loved the quick fast hard shifts and I understand that that is actaully better for the tranny then a slowwww gear change.

Just a thought and a quicker auto shift = quicker 0-60 !!!

There is a company called Level 10 that modifies the whole body if you take it off and send it in but I've ready elsewhere that people had problems with this company and the results. Others have said they like it. I'd be concerned about the warrantly issue. I agree that I would LOVE a chip just to speed up and firm the shifts. It is one of the only things wrong with this car.

No. Those shift kits are not made for computer controlled trannys. Most cars after 98 are. The best you can do, is a computer program change with a programmer, or ECU chip. Which is not made for our car either.

Oh well that answers my question on that I guess. Too bad there isn't an easy mod to so because that was the best mod of the many I did to the z28 by far. I was able to chip my tires under moderate acceleration through 3rd gear! May not have dropped my 1/4 with that mod but man you could feel it on every single shift. Nice and clean and fast! I miss it

Just wait for your tranny to start dying...it'll shift harder than a motherf*cker!! Tranny #2 was spinning 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes 4th. And, they weren't little spins, either. the shit slammed into gear. Of course, it finally started slipping so badlt that I took it in, and I'm now waiting for #3.
