Which strutbar or pro-control bar to get with modified suspension?
Which strutbar or pro-control bar to get with modified suspension?
I have Apexi Coilovers, and Comptech Swaybars, money difference isn't an issue. Would you guys think the Eibach Pro-Control-Bars are best suited for my car or I should just get the NEUSPEED Upper Front Strut Tie-Bar. Only a $30 difference.
yo steve
shawn installed the neuspeed ones..ask him how they ride.. he has yet to take his car out due to the rain..but ask him like tomorrow or something.
if shawn got the neuspeed...than they got to be good.

I'd go with the Eibach just because too many people have the Neuspeed ones already. For the TL anyways the Neuspeed bar is the bar of choice because of a perfect fit...the Eibach bar *might not be able to co-exist with the stock bar (not verified), but since you CL folks dont have a stock bar to begin with, then either one shouldn't be a problem.
Here's the main difference...
Neuspeed:
1 single bar...no flex joints...uses 2 mounting points for each end.
Eibach:
3 main parts...2 flex joints...uses 3 mounting points for each end.

I haven't seen many people run the eibach that's why I ask.
I would go with the neuspeed but if the eibach is better I'm all for it..
Anyone else have experience with eibach ?

Well dont get tunnel visioned just because everyone else has a certain product. Eibach and Neuspeed aren't the only ones that make strut bars for the CLS. Moonmaster runs with a WeaponR bar on his car. Main thing is I'm telling you go get Eibach just because you'd probably be the first one to have it...and you can report the results back to us who wish they would of gone with a different bar. I went purely logical in choosing my bar and went with Neuspeed because it was cheaper.

That's what I was wondering Astro, because we do have a stock upper strut bar. I am not tunnel visioned, just trying to see if Neuspeed is better for a reason.. I guess not though..
The eibach ones sure do look good though.

DOH! then I guess moonmaster took his stock bar out because there is noway the WeaponR bar would fit next to the stock bar...That thing was HUGE!
But again...I went with Neuspeed because of the price...and it had the best fit without taking any parts off permenently.
That's what I was afraid of. I didn't really want to take any additional parts off (like the stock bar). Oh well. Is that your ride bnavarro? Why didnt you keep the nuts on the extra 2 bolts?
In my own personal opinion I think you would get the best strength out of the Neuspeed bar used in conjunction with the factory bar. The reason I say this is because the eibach bar only runs horizontal and may flex vertically under extreme conditions. However, since the stock bars tie into the firewall as well, there are an additional 2 bars keeping it stable from vertical flex, while the nesupeed beefs up the horizontal flex where you need it the most.

this is what I plan on doing, thanks for your input. I didn't really want to take out the stock bar.
You got yourself a tight ride too
I really don’t like the “look” or DESIGN of that eibach bar pictured above.
It looks like it is designed for side-to-side strength only, not the “twisting” motion that the front sees in aggressive driving.
Not to mention you have to remove the stock bar and all the factory equipment attached to it.
The Neuspeed bar is bolted directly to the tower and doesn’t have to transfer the loads through all that hardware.
And the stock bar stays in place for added strength.
And believe me.....That sucker is FIRM. I had a BITCH of a time wrangling it into place.
As for driving impression on mine, I haven’t noticed a HUGE difference with it installed, but it does seem to add a bit to the overall handling performance.

This is a pretty common question among my friends who have looked in my engine compartment of my Integra, pointed, and said: "what does that do?"
Basically the frame of the car is underneath and around the engine. There is nothing above that is structurally sound. In heavy cornering the two suspension towers have a tendency to flex up. (picture me taking my two hands and flapping them up like a birds wing). A strut bar prevents this motion, thereby improving the "feel" up front.
It seems to me that the Neuspeed bar wouldn't add that much improvement since there is a fairly thick bar up front already. IMO the Neuspeed seems to be a waste of money unless you are riding on some insanely stiff springs w/ 35 series tires.

Dont forget that different mods gets categorized by price class (for those who just need to keep modding). So for around 120-130 that competes with the AEM Tru-Power pulleys which also produces very little yet the installation is a killer. So for someone who kinda sees modding as a type of game (rice mods dont count) then the strut bar wins in favor in that price category.
P.S.
BTW the cheapest I've seen the Neuspeed strut bar go for is $80 brand new (non-polished)
(I bought mine through APC.com)
