Strut Tower Bar reduce flexing in cold?
Strut Tower Bar reduce flexing in cold?
Has anyone in this cold weather recently put on a STB? When I go over bumps lately I feel like the whole car creaks... and the sound of windshield glass "settling" or moving into place. I'm just curious how effective the STB is in reducing flexing... or if there's another measure that can be taken.

Strut bar won't help much...that crackling noises is because everything is frozen from the moisture in the air. You could lean on the car and it will make that noise in the winter. Besides our cars allready have a strut bar so an up-grade isn't likea night and day difference. It just makes the steering a little tighter and slightly more responsive.
It's not just from the cold... granted, I hear more now with the cold weather... but even when the car was relatively new in the summer time I would hear god aweful noise from window areas when I would go over a bump. It was like hearing glass settle... or rub against something. Ah well. I'll be six feet under and still worrying about rattles and noises from my car... just something I am really picky about (Got rid of the sunroof wind-deflector bar though, and my center console... gogo weatherstripping).
